No FA Cup for Davies

Brighton have been denied permission from Forest to let Aaron Davies play in the FA Cup.

Does this mean the club intend to bring the on-loan midfielder back in the new year?

Personally I wouldn't bother.

I suppose it's in preperation to give the squad depth, as January is, undoubtedly, already a write-off with regards to new signings.

Hows he doing down there anyway?

Russell Slade just got his p45, so Aaron's probably not sparked their team into life with his deft dribbling and sharp shooting.

Speaking of Brighton, one of the rising youngsters who I always liked the look of, Thornhill. Is he down at Brighton ?, any reports on how he is progressing, thanks.

Inside information or just the usual doom and gloom. You should try watching Forest - it might cheer you up!

If you knew SHJ, you would know this is more than the usual doom and gloom...

It's being able to remember the last few epic fails we've encountered in January.

Let's hope it pans out more like last summer than last January. If it does, we'll be sitting pretty.

I wouldn't hold your breath for much activity in January.

Billy made it clear last season that he doesn't like doing business in January as players are over-priced.

However if we are in a challenging position I expect 1 or 2 may come in.

Neither are setting the world alight down there but they aren't at all impressed with Thornhill. I thought he was a decent player, especially in league one.

He's not even getting a kick there. We might as well have kept him on our bench or sent him to County.

Send him to County? Wouldn't want to help those arrogant feckers out any more

In lieu of absolutely zero signings in january by our very ambitious board , bringing back Davies will be seen as a new signing.

He's hating it down there. He was back in Nott'm last saturday. Just have to wait and see what their new manager wants to do with both our loanees.

I suspect it's just one of Davies' rules- he's very arsey with loaning and all that.

My guess is that it's just as a precaution, just in case we do get too many injuries somewhere down the line, or if he does end up coming back in January. Also, it may be easier to flog him on, if he isn't cup-tied.

Any club still left in the competition at that stage is not going to want Davies!

Don't understand the fuss about the January window. Panic, panic, panic!

If we'd signed anybody in the last one, we probably wouldn't have got the likes of Blackstock and Gunter... and who knows what have happened!

I was expecting, at the very least, something by the Beatles or Abba ...
