So gang, what's in Nikolas bag?
Dunno, but if he has a white version of that pullover and a natty hat I've got a fairly decent guess..

Brilliant finish (and assist!)

But his ability to never concede fouls is amazing to me, just pure brilliant positioning & discipline constantly. There must have been about 8 VAR checks on him this season & none of them are ever fouls, he rarely ever gives FK's away and certainly no sloppy ones at all.

Stuff like this will never get mentioned because it's minor details but it is so important!!!

Yep I thought he was excellent once again. Very subtle defensive performance, which is exactly what you want

Absolutely player of the season and that’s with just about everyone excelling way beyond expectations. I guess I’d be edgy if I didn’t see Sels’ name on the team sheet, but he’s the most important outfield player for us.
Definitely the defensive missing link. When he's been rested for the cup, we suddenly look a bit vulnerable on set pieces again.

He is immense.

The biggest contribution to the difference between 17th and (currently…) 3rd.

Haven’t been in this thread much because he’s just consistently excellent every week.

But seeing as he scored, thought I’d drop in and reconfirm how absolutely mustard this fella is.

POTY for me, among insane competition.

I think someone will come in for a large bid with and if tbh why wouldn't you? He's one of the standout CB's in European football this season and we know who the other one is too.

Top clubs will also want to disrupt us now. I actually think we're going to have to deal with bids from these clubs for probably half dozen of our players, this is just the reality of us having players that have performed outstandingly in the PL. Also add Aina into that mix as a free agent, especially if Liverpool lose TAA, I'd be all all over Aina as his replacement.

I don’t think he’s fashionable or young enough. He’s world class for us but can he play on the half way line? That is likely what stopped clubs buying him in the first place - if he played 10 years earlier he would have been another Vidic winning title after title.

I don’t have any worries at all about losing him and hope we keep looking for overlooked players like him & many others we’ve picked up.

Good points and funnily enough I'd thought about this.

It wouldn't surprise me if we start to see a shift in playing styles from everyone trying to play out from the back after seeing our way. Let's face it, who has it actually worked for? Everyone has dropped off a cliff trying to do it.

I agree that playing on the halfway line might not suit Milenkovic but for any team that is rethinking this, you'd make him one of your top targets.
