nigel clough..legend

how depressing is it to see nigel down the road .:?

derby are playing exciting football, and he is putting results and performances together, a forest legend making derby great..he should be managing us, and he has done all this with NO money and tons of injuries. I dont think we are going anywhere with davies now, we are turning into draw merchants and cannot win away from home. I hope history repeats itself and nigel follows the path of brian and ends up coming back home one day...

They're doing well at the moment, but it's early days.. and this isn't Forest banter.

Played in a Forest team with good players around him and he was seen as a good player. Then went to play in a Liverpool team with good players around him and did OK. Then went to play in a Man City team with crap players and he was rubbish.

One good run, that he's having does not make him a good manager.

He's having the same decent run of form which we had in David Platt's second season. Now what happened to him, apart from sitting on a nice comfy chair on Sky Sports and now earning a vast wedge from Citeh for contributing nothing?

People have said he's got a chip on his shoulder about Forest over treatment of his Dad, so you're probably hoping in vain.

And yeah, like Winnits said, early days, the wheels could come off there yet, and we've got plenty of time to get our act together.

Perfect scenario, our form picks up this month, beating some top sides in the league, that and Davies constant moaning spurs the board to bring in the sexy signings we need in January in time for our assault Blackpool style on the top 6 late in the day.

Will he and Billy shake hands in the next meeting.... Think Billy wants to get sacked so he does not have to.

My favourite ever player and still a hero. I wish we'd gone with our hearts. Billys about as lovable as this guy

Bet they werent idolising cloughs management and saying we should have got him instead of billy last year. its funny how opinions change based on a few results. Yeah derby are playing well but i see so many comparisons between us last season and them this season so i see them getting found out soon.

Just remember clough hasnt achieved anything in management yet; billy has. Ill stick with billy thanks but he must stop mucking about and just concentrate on the task at hand.

I bet the same fans looking longingly at Nige & his sheep this year were the same ones laughing at their struggles last year.

Personally, I don't want any of our old favourites - they would only start to irritate us as results turn against us. Imagine my all-time hero, Psycho - what would happen if he started getting things wrong?
I'm just starting to think I don't want Billy - he's beginning to become a bit of a prat (seemingly).

they are having a good run of form - confidence makes a lot of difference. I don't think he's turned them into world beaters or ever will.

Dont forget the majority of direbys squad are on loan - Some expire just before the Forest game at xmas.

Commons only started playing well when they threatened to not offer a new contract at the end of this season.

Direby are not a particulary good team. The Championship is very average this season.

Its just a shame Forest and doughty yet again decided not to freshen up the squad with some new faces. Another missed opportunity from our fantastic world business guru.

Which is why I've never been a big fan of the o'neill/Robertson 'dream team'. We've been lucky in that regard, former players that have managed us were never really heroes in their playing days (Calderwood, Clark).

Not counting Psycho's caretaker stint, hope his forest managerial career starts & ends there.

Smegson was a smash!

We've got 3 short term loans. Fielding, Kuqi and Moore. Fielding is only here while Bywater regains fitness. The other loan is Alberto Bueno who is here till the end of the season.

Commons' good form is helped by us playing him alongside 2 other creative players who all work together making space. If the opposition mark one tightly, then it frees up the other 2.

We are a good team, being top scorers at home shows that and being the only side to take points and score goals against QPR in their first 10 games shows that. We've played 4 of the top 6 already and 7 from the top half of the league. You're right though, the league is pretty ordinary this season.

Four weeks ago there were plenty of Sheep who wanted him sacked, in four weeks time he could be there again, a run of six or seven good games in a season and a half does not make me yearn for someone who scurried off to the scousers, manages the sheep and has an obvious dislike of our club.

I don't want him anywhere near here (although unfortunately, he already is!)

He's going to be at Gary Birtles book signing at Tesco, in Toton, apparently.

Nige still loves Forest. But he's not going to come out & say that being manager of our biggest rivals now is he.

Let him learn his trade at the sheep before making the step up ;)

Passing the ball around the defence when there's no pressure is not the same as good football. It is often mistaken for it. Our one touch forward attacking passing like at West Brom away is good football. Oh and Commons will get injured soon and it'll all fall apart for them. The same derby fans who are hailing him as the best manager in the division will be calling for his head AGAIN and throwing their shirts on the pitch again very soon!

You sign for scouse bastards, you lose whatever little respect i had for you NC.
