It's no secret what I think of Dom, I've loved him since the first couple of games I watched him in and ever since then I've often referred to him as the "footballers footballer".

If I were a manager he's the player that I would sign everywhere I went.

I've never understood it when I see comments about not seeing what he brings to the table. I guess people watch different things when they watch a football match but for me it's always been glaringly obvious.

A lot of people haven't played. Not to criticise of course! But I used to play loads and even when I had a few really skilful teammates, the players I looked to more often than not were the ones who did simple things quickly and efficiently. Little passes and layoffs, positioning, holding an opponent off, etc etc. Makes everyone else's job easier and allows the whole team to stretch it's legs from time to time.

They're the glue that holds everything together, reliable and dependable. There's very few creative/flair and skillful players that are also like that. They're "moments" players. Without the glue players it all falls apart while you're waiting for those "moments".

The last player I can think of in recent times for us was Jack Colback. His legs were going but you knew you'd get an honest performance, he'd graft and he'd be dependable whatever job you asked of him.

Colback! Yeah he's a good shout. I was trying to think of anyone like that in any of our "good" 2nd tier teams but James Garner isn't really that type of player. Or maybe he is. Most of them who were actually busy, tidy players were technically crap like Prutton, and the technically good ones like Gareth Williams or Lansbury were more players with a decent passing range but not really the same type. Or maybe they were but we had crap managers who didn't know how to use them

I reckon if you asked the squad to pick their own side for the Palace game Dominguez would get in most of them.

Nico is the current leader of fucjin g wot karate in my view. Neco Williams, Elliot Anderson and Igor Jesus complete the current Ninja Turtles.

Sean Dyche is obviously Splinter, PGMOL are collectively represented by Shredder.

When people say they don’t understand what he brings to the game it’s a compliment because it’s almost a given he does the basics not only well, but consistently well. People just forgive intense the prem is, Dom is an engine we rely on.

He won't get the plaudits as usual but this fella was MOTM. He flies under the radar but the work he puts in, the closing down and the cutting passing lanes off is incredible. He was also at the front of trying to set our attacks off too today. Again it will be missed by many but it was his excellent turn and pass that set us on the way for the first goal.

So reliable and about time he was appreciated more.

Thought he made a real difference to way we played. The change in formation allowed us to bring him in to use his non-stop energy to chase and harry, break play up and pop up again to receive the ball in gaps and move us forward. Made a huge difference.

He was instrumental in the goal too. He picked the ball up in our own crowded area, side stepped a couple of players under pressure and played it forward to MGW then followed his pass to receive it back off him again under pressure and sidestepped it again then set Aina on his way.

There's so much that he does that flies under the radar and gets missed.

He adds so much in the heart of our midfield rather than just trying to shoehorn him into the team by asking him to play wide.
