Had to bump his thread. Along with Ibra, he's really making the difference. His sort of floating handy man role is giving us an extra body in all parts of the pitch. Good job he's got 3 lungs.
You can go back to August 2024 since I've been banging that drum and about 20 posts since.

Me too, he's a footballers footballer. Everyone that plays with him will appreciate everything he does and just what a great technical player he is and he's got genuine football intelligence.

We always play better when Dom is in the team. People will always get bored & want more flair in the team but you always revert back to Dom, especially in the big games.

If you look back on all our best wins since we have signed him, he is involved in almost all of them.

He should reach 100 games by the end of the season & every game he has played he has put in maximum effort, intensity (what he is the best at) & consistency. I think he is at his best in one of the wide positions tucking in, your description is perfect that he is a floating handy man.

Breaking-up opposition play is underrated. There can be no higher complement than saying that Dom has some Bomber vibes about him in the way he goes about it.
He reminds me a little bit of Argentina legend Diego „El Cholo“ Simeone, who was absolute nails and would run all day.

I do like Simeone though, so I might be a bit biased.

He reminds me of Park Ji-sung.

So many people couldn't see what he did and gave if you didn't know what you were looking at. Yet Fergie trusted him implicitly and he got the nod over Hollywood midfielders in so many big games.

Just like our Dom he'll stick to the task and instructions implicitly and he's intelligent at what he does.

I'd be making sure we get his contract extended.

Unlucky not score yesterday from header.
Saw him rubbing/touching back of leg second half. But did seem to run whatever it was off and then subbed 15 or so mins later. He stayed on bench, so not rushed down tunnel etc so seems ok and perhaps me being a drama, worrying about one of my favourite players!!

Good comparison, like Park he always plays the big games.

I bet managers must love him, stick him anywhere on the pitch and he grafts for 90 minutes.

I love Dom. Said it before, for me he is an archetypal Forest player (when we are a good team). All our successful sides I can remember have had busy, tidy, unflashy, efficient players in midfield, or at least one of them. It's not Forest without one. Most of our creativity has come from wingers in our good sides over the years. The likes of MGW and Bohinen are exceptions to the norm really. And those wingers needed players like Dom to make them tick.

Scot Gemill, Garry Parker, David Phillips spring to mind. I'm too young for Bowyer but I'm told he was that type too. Dom is better than those players though, more versatile and does things quicker. It's weird how every club has certain types of players that seem to work for them more often than not. It's pretty noteworthy that I'm struggling to think of a similar player during our 23 years in the wilderness.....maybe Cohen is the closest but tbh he was absolutely miles off the level, no disrespect intended! Anyway Dom is in our best 11 imo. Like everyone else I'd love 2 attacking wingers, but Bakwa needs time to learn the prem, Hutchinson isn't quite there yet, and Ndoye has been patchy. Sometimes I'm tempted to join the 4-3-3 fan club with 3 in the middle including Dom. That would push Morgan wide right sometimes for me in order to maintain balance, or even drop him to the bench for certain games where another winger is needed. We are just better with Dom in the team. All coaches have played him when he's available.

It's criminal that we are 17th with this much talent in the squad. It's just shows how brutal and tough a league this is. You have to be on it every match and any weakness will be exploited.

A few bad decisions and the house of cards can easily come tumbling down. Many teams have fallen from grace as a testimony to that. Marinakis has got to learn to show some patience when things are going well, to not rock the boat too much in the drive for ambition.
