Nicolás Martín Domínguez

Possibly, he is certainly a liability as a full back.
Personally, I think we should send him and his £120k per week wages back to Arsenal.
He's always been a midfielder really. It's just that sides like City and Arsenal have always been so stacked with talent in midfield and have so much of the ball they saw it as more beneficial to shove a technically proficient midfielder out to LB rather than have a defender.

Others always seem to get the accolade of best dressed person at the club but for me it's always Dominguez.

He was fine last night against a championship level opponent. He tends to be ok until he comes up against physical teams. He should be able to hold his own in midfield for the Europa League against the majority of opponents.

Dyche clearly doesn't fancy him in a midfield two in the Premier League and he had a few shockers last season (second half at Bournemouth, first half at Newcastle, first half v Villa).

Imo, he's an average midfielder for a lower ranked Premier League team for me...which is kind of how it's panning out.

Luiz and Anderson are a different level.
I don't think I could disagree more with this if I tried.

Decent squad player at best. I wouldn't like him starting every week in the Prem. There are three or four midfielders ahead of him competing for two positions. And he's never a winger - there are four ahead of him when everyone is fit. Remains to be seen whether he will be kept around and whether he wants to remain a bit part player. I'd be tempted to use him in Europe and the FA Cup and I can see Dyche doing that the rest of the season.

I think he could step into Anderson’s role with Anderson dropping to 6 while sangare is at afcon. Had nico’s season not had a disrupted start due to the Chelsea thug I think he’d now be at his best again. I really hope he stays fit while sangare is gone as I don’t think nicos that much of a step down, just offers something diferent

Well I think he's ace. Has a clear role, does a job, and does it very well.

You don't walk into the Argentine squad unless you can play a bit.

I do broadly agree but - we have had another lad who's had three times as many Argentina caps, most of them more recently than Dominguez. And plenty of people thought he was shit..

Yet Cooper, Nuno and Dyche have all found ways to shoehorn him in to the first 11 whether it being in the middle or out wide. Considering he is an average squad player, it also amazes me that whenever we play one of the 'top' sides in the league, Dominguez usually starts.

I think that's been through necessity via injuries rather than anything else. Dominguez has never really nailed down a regular start in the Premier League and doubtful he ever will for us. He is not capable of dominating a midfield like an Anderson, Luiz, Sangaré or Yates (on their day) and plays best when the opposition have alot of the ball. We have better options all over the park when everyone is fully fit.

He will be useful in the Europa no doubt.

But what point are you making?

Nobody is claiming he is our best player

He is almost universally respected for what he brings to the squad where ever he plays, you miss squad players like Dominguez when they leave. He is literally a 7/10 every time he is on the pitch in any position, players like Dom are invaluable over a season

Nico goes about his work calmly and professionally and can be relied on.

Sean Dyche turns to him to to the business when required and likely views him as a valuable squad member 👏🔴

The fact he was given the armband in a European tie should tell you what Dyche and co think of him.

In fact if you ask me to describe the archetypal kind of Forest player that I associate with our club, the successful sides we've had, and the identity and style that we've had the most success with, I think of creative wingers who shoulder most of the attacking burden and I think of busy, energetic intelligent midfielders who create a platform for the wingers to thrive. I don't think there's a more "Forest" player at the club right now than Dominguez. We've always had success with this type. Gemmill, Parker, Stone, Cohen, McKenna etc.

After announcing the signing of midfielder Marlon Freitas, Palmeiras remains active in the transfer market, looking for new players for that position. In recent days, two names currently playing in the Premier League have been offered to the club: Guido Rodríguez , from West Ham , and Nicolás Dominguez , from Nottingham Forest . The information about these players being offered to Palmeiras was initially published by UOL .

ESPN has learned that, before making a possible new move in the transfer market, Palmeiras wants to see how Luís Pacheco , a player who is only 17 years old and was not registered for the 2026 São Paulo Junior Football Cup , will perform in the first team.
