I can't ever recall a draft where the top 5 picks were all on defense.
I love the fact the Lions are on the phone to Hutch before the Walker pick is announced!!!

After the initial shock, it makes too much sense.
- With how the draft fell, we weren't getting any of the top 5 WR's in this draft, guys the league clearly had above the rest, even Dotson went late teens to the Commanders. I think that was their top target in the draft so fair play to the Cardinals FO for having a back up plan. Add to that both guards who had been linked to the Cardinals were gone in the teens. A lot of analysts linked a corner to them, but I really couldn't see it. They love Murphy and Wilson, pre-draft they were saying Gladney coming in was as good as a first round pick and they just resigned their CB4 from last season in Antonio Hamilton. Wouldn't be shocked to see Alford brought back.
- Getting pick 100 back, the draft value (from modern charts) means it was the equivalent of late first to mid second (depending on which chart you use), which i think is fair. Similar when Cooks got traded to the Pats.
- It makes Kyler very happy, as we just got his favourite college target and best friend.
- Lastly, he fits the offence to a tee. We needed that big play deep threat which we lost in Kirk (though he wasn't good at it). He is off the back of a 1,000 yard season and already has chemistry with Kyler.
Bit of a weird draft for the Cardinals. McBride the TE from Colorado was a shock as we just signed Ertz to a three year deal, but what a guy to learn behind. Cameron Thomas and Myjai Sander give us some OLB/edge juice which we really needed. Thought we did well on day 3 mind you, Keontay Ingram is talented and looks a good backup for Conner, Lecitus Smith and Hayes look perfect fits at guard, love the Luketa pick that late, he will bring some juice to ST's and has to inside/outside linebacker versatility.
Hutch and Jamo are great picks for the Lions, love the aggressiveness for Jamo, I was surprised it was so cheap? Paschal is like a Trevon Walker-lite, went higher than I thought he would mind you. Kirby and Mitchell were a bit 'meh'. Love the Rodriguez pick, I think you guys will love him. Houston I know nothing about. Lucas is a good pick that late, has a chance of being a nickel CB in the league.
