Mornin' everyone,

I have today been speaking to an online friend in Poland about the "Madjewski Affair".

He informs me of a few things from the Polish side.

Firstly his club is Polonia Warsaw and it is managed by a chap called José Mari Bakero.

Bakero is an ex Spanish International and he is not only manager but a "Rich sponsor" of the club (ie. he rules the roost on everything apparently). They are having a bad season and i suspect a bit of hesitancy on their part as Raddi is very very close apparently to being a regular feature in the international squad so he is one of their wee gems.

He tells me "anything could happen" given all this but also says he wouldn't be surprised if Forest did sign him as Raddi is quoted over there as saying in Poland that the transfer fee would be 1.5 million euro. I reckon thats about 1.35 million quid. Great value I'd say.

That sits comfortably with what we were all informed pre-season when he signed and that is we had agreed a first refusal with his club at 1.5 million squid should we wish to sign him. The 1.35 mill sits comfortably with that so if it's not about money what is it about ??? That's what worries me and Bakero by all accounts is a very unstable figure. This worries me somewhat. He's promised to keep me informed of developments and rumours from the Polish side.

thanks for clearing that up.

I'm all in favour of keeping our transfer dealings secret.

However, if Forest have a 'cast iron' agreement they can sign Raddy for X amount at the end of the season, then I wish they'd say.

the fact they haven't kind of hints to me that the agreement may only be verbal so having a eccentric character pulling the strings at Polinia does worry me.

Why would such transparency help?

It wouldn't settle Raddy's nerves, you have to assume he's in the know.

Would it settle the fan's nerves? A few, maybe. But the restless would find something else to worry/moan about the deal - probably along the 'why wait' line.
