i hope they don't get it gamston is miles away from the city and i really don't see how this can be good for the club.
also we can not fill a 30k stadium let alone a 38k one

i'm not opposed to a new stadium but i just think the location is a bad idea

No wonder my post count..
Taking Forest away from the trent is like taking the apple away from apple pie .

For non-locals like myself, where is Gamston and how long would it take to walk from say, the train station?

Its about 10 minutes walk from the city ground.

Women and football though, surely some mistake?

So now this is the 3rd location of the possible new stadium..I wouldn't get too bothered about where Gamston is as in 3 months they will probably name somewhere else.

Yes, the 'Wembley for Women' tag is one that will haunt Forest fans indefinitely should it go ahead.

Worth remembering it will only happen IF England get the 2018 bid, and IF Nottingham is part of that bid.

Oh yes, and Gamston is certainly not 27 miles from Nottingham - it's in the same locale as Bridgford.

The only advantage of this is that Gamston is walking distance for me. Other than that it sucks!

I heard the interview with the bloke form the City Council on Radio Nottingham, t'was typical Nottingham City Council - Forge ahead with plans for a great 'white elephant' that no-one wants yet will have to fund whether you live in the City or not, and whether you'll use it or not.

Why are the City Council involved in a building project outside of the City? f*** off & stay on your own patch!!

They can't develop the city ground, even with the demolition of local buildings ? Sounds like lazy journalism to me. Someone heard a rumour or got slipped an idea and they have taken the whole lot from that !

I'm all in favour of a move as long as it is right for everyone... Without seeing the detailed porposals I can't really pass comment, but location wise, I am a little dissapointed...

We'll see though.

so we have gone from 50,000 to 38,000.....

what is the point in moving then!

wembley for women.....joke

That's what I was thinking. It has been confirmed that The City Ground could be redeveloped to around 38k so this stadium is purely for the World Cup and nothing else. So our options are to fight to stay and redevelop The City Ground to around 38K or move to another 38k stadium and share the ground with a bunch of women?

I was all for moving to move the club forward but my opinions are changing

They've got to spend that work parking levy somehow!

Go down Radcliffe Rd from the CG down towards Maccy D's, go straight on through the lights as if you were going to Radcliffe on Trent. When you get to the roundabout where the Bridge at Gamston is its on your right (that's the roundabout you can see in the photo on the NEP website)

However.......

Rushcliffe only require 1 new housing estate and that WILL be bolted onto Clifton on the land to the side of the A453 down to Gotham. That lands already been bought from the farmers by Rushcliffe BC, there will be 5.5k homes, 2 primary schools, 2 'community centres' (shops, pub, gym, etc), retail park, tram lines and park and ride and to the left of the A453 just past Barton in Fabis as you come into Nottingham a large green area set aside for 'community sports provision with a junction off the newly dueled road called the 'Forest Junction'!

Nottingham City Council are up in arms about the development because of the way its been done but there's not a thing they can do about it and I suspect this new Gamston development is just a good smokescreen while they push through the Clifton plans. Why would they piss their own constituents off when they can piss off the City council residents who they have no responsibility for!

Don't ask how but I've seen the plans and other documents - this will be going through!

Andy, it won't be out at Clifton. I suspect there are various plans for the different locations which include the stadium and you have seen one of them. Ive heard the possiblilty that someone else might be moving to Clifton though!
Have I told you I live with Billy Davies and Sven amongst others?

I heard they're building a new suburb called Harchester near Clifton.

Is it really worth all this for a few World Cup group games? It seems to me the WC games arejust an aside to making a few wealthy people a lot more money. Who does this venture benefit the least? Oh, the general public and the fans! What a surprise. It's totall unnecessary. We don't need WC group games.

Does Billy talk in his sleep? Any news on Gareth Bale? Does Billy refer to himself in the third person during pillow talk?
