Just been on the phone to a guy who has connections at the club and he said that the New Sponsor is Santander Grooup that sponsor McClaren f1 team. They were just going through the legal process in order to complete the sponsorship deal.1st of July is the date where Forest are going to to announce a batch of summer signings but i don't know who the player are,All i know is that its a batch of about 3/4 players.

So Hopefully some good news will be around the corner ;D ;D

I'm hoping it's Santander as they have company colours of Red and White.

Makes for a tidier looking kit.

Similarly, I wouldn't mind being sponsored by Virgin, Coca-Cola, Father Christmas or the country of Poland.

I am also equally as sad and have always liked the idea of Coke sponsoring us, so yes a nice tidy Santander name and logo in white would do fine.

Raise our profile in Spain? Make new ties? Snap up the next Carlos Merino? Here's hoping :D

With the rate they're taking over UK banks it will probably raise our Profile in Bingley and / or Bradford.

Right, I'm off to google the career of Carlos Merino......

I'm gonna have a punt and say he went to Athletic Bilbao, and did quite well. After that I don't know, so do tell.

Dunno why we got rid of him though, he looked mint.

Best described as Nomadic thus far:

Nottingham Forest
Athletic Bilbao
→Burgos CF (loan)
Numancia
Gimnàstic
Las Palmas
Albacete

though seemed to get a good few games with most other than Bilbao.

That santander shirt is a fake, its photoshopped, you can quite clearly see the white line under the santander name, plus we will still have an umbro kit for the next 3 seasons, when Doughty sold he shares in umbro to nike, we still had 3 years left of the contract for umbro to supply the shirts, that is purely someone trying to make out its the new shirt, it does look smart though, but we wont have a sponsor this season, just Forest supporting a charity of some kind.

There is no way on this earth that a High Street banking group like Santander would pile money in to a struggling Championship football club. Especially when you consider all of the losses and lay-offs from Abbey, Aliance and & Leicester and Bradford & Bingley.

The Nike shirt has been circulating on the net for about six months as I can remember, it's not even purporting to be a fake it's just a mock up that amatuer photoshoppers do on the website below...

I'd imagine that whoever sponsors Forest will be a considerably much smaller company than Capitol One, I'm pretty confident it won't be a charity but whoever does get the shirt will be paying peanuts for it!

It will be Umbro.

Great news if its true, glad it will have been sorted out and the club can now concentrate on bringing them signing's in!
I've always fancied the idea of being sponsored by Red Stripe, now that would be quality! Would look ace on the shirts and you would be able to have a can at half time! ;D

Well since they're now rebranding all their Abbey and friends branches as Santander in the UK there's every chance they'll be wanting to get their brand name out there in their new UK market.

I've got no idea who started this rumour that they would sponsor Forest, but is it really that ridiculous that they'd like to have their name on the shirt of a club as well followed as ours, especially as we fit in nicely with their brand colours? No.

Mclaren spend more on development in one month than we do in one year. Secondly, you cannot compare Forest to one of the biggest brands in the world which is showing itself off in the biggest televised sporting event in the world.

Furthermore, Santander sponsored Mclaren well before all this Credit Crunch happended. And the team they are backing are currently the World Champions.

Forest are only just managing to stay in the league.

IT WILL NOT BE SANTANDER.

They are rebranding Abbey etc as Santander over the next few months and by March there will be no Abbey, B&B, etc. Internally they have already started the brainwashing branding excercise and el amigos en de banco are now calling talking Santander. Cards are being replaced now with the new liverery.

It would not surprise me to see them take shirt front this summer. I can think as many good reasons for them to choose Forest as I can think of reasons they should not.

Very much doubt we'll be on a Nike jersey tho.
