Ok, Ok it's yet another new stadium thread.

However there's been some indecision in the other thread about how many of us are actually on board with these plans or not so I'd quite like to know once and for all how many of us are in and how many are out.
 
City Ground faithful.

Just do it up good, and Build a new main stand.

Theres still magic in those walls.

I'd be all for a new stadium if it looked the part and was in a decent area. I think Gamston's too far away from the city though, so no for this particular plan.

Wheres the option for "I won't be fully for or against it until ive seen plans and had assurances that it will benefit the club more than staying put, and right now I can see the merit's of both arguments" option?
 
What about the 'I really don't want to leave the City Ground but I do see where the club is coming from on this and can aknowledge that.' option?
 
You missed out the option of

'I'm even more hacked off now I realise we spent 3 years in division 3 watching s**te football and refusing to buy players to help get us out of it because we were spending all our spare cash on architect fees.'

I`ll go along with that, i cant see them doing it, but if they do decide to move i just hope that they listen to the fans and build something with character, something unique that stands out from all of the other "gold fish bowls"

Where's the "lets bull doze all the houses at the back of the City Ground because that's what it would take" option?
 
It's too complex an issue with too many variables to be a simple yes/no answer.

I couldn't answer it without a detailed view of the new location, the design of the new stadium and a myriad of other specific facts.

Luckily, since I'm unlikely to ever be privy to this information, Forest or the powers-that-be at the councils don't require my go ahead so for me it's a case of que sera sera!

I thought the latest ideas involved Holme P rather than Gamston? Still only a 20 minute stroll from the bars of W Bridgford. Good design + good location = ok by me. Trouble is - we don't trust the people with the power. We know that giving up the CG lets someone have the (prime) site for development. We need to be able to trust that the re-develop the CG alternative really is impossible, then some of us might be happier. Various architects seem to have said the CG is a no-go. It may cost a shed-load to demolish houses and would be a vote-loser for the councils which let it happen.........
 
I thought I read that the rushcliffe mp had pulled his support due to conflict of interests in the post, in the same article he mentioned the cattle market as an another option. IF and I mean if we had to move this would be a more palatable option than the 'lets pick a venue out of a hat' suggestions we've seen up to date.

Despite the above I really think its looking more and more likely the world cup bid will be unsuccessful due to the pigs ear the Nottingham bid is making of it alongside the FIFA vice presidents negative comments about the England bid a couple of weeks back. keep up the good work if that's the case Martha.

last thing doesn't it gall anyone else with the club's hypocrisy of saying we must move whilst continuing to play mull of kintyre before every home game. I know it gets things going but I feel its like rubbing our noses in it every time.

Not really.

The club have said all along they would love to stay at the CG but it's just not possible due to space restrictions around the ground. A few people on here should take their head out of the sand and actually have a look at th limited space available.

:nowink:My head is out of the sand, if they can reroute the A52 and piss alot of rushcliffe residents around Gamston then they can buy surrounding property around the CG. The question is other than the world cup, when (apart from the odd game) are we going to need a ground that holds 40K plus. The question is do you really feel a souless bowl thats not ideal geographically (particularly for north notts fans) with its crappy identikit bars and surroundings is a preferable option to staying put.

I realise things move on and change but the lack of consultation and complete shambles in the announcement(s) that have been made have made this whole process a farce. If you really think the club would prefer to stay put rather than paying lip service about their 'true' feelings then I think your own head may be in the yellow grainy stuff my friend.
