Negative Thoughts

Really not worried about this fixture. Was more worried about the teams we expect to beat at home. Even a draw would be a bonus. Since we don't have a lot to lose and the players will be buzzing on a high, we might just exceed expectations!!!

If Bristol City can get a point at St James' Park then anything is possible for a team at home against Newcastle after 3 successive wins.

Besides we beat Boro who I personally think have a similar standard squad to Newcastle extra time or not.

West brom are 2nd and we should have beaten them but who knows i think the newcastle strikers will cause us problems

I'm confident Billy will pick a team to get us a result; even if it means he picks an "away" side with the more physical players (Adebola, Garner, Moussi et al) to get in the faces of the Newcastle players.

Give Newcastle time to play, they'll pick holes in anyone; Bristol City got in their faces and tried to deny them space...

You may be surprised - Nottingham Forest are picking up now, Newcastle are drawing. If Billy picks the right players, Nottingham Forest may stand a chance.

I'm sure the players fear no one in this league after our recent form.
Bring it on!

In addition, this game has a prize element attached to it. If Nottingham Forest can beat the unbeatable Newcastle then it will boost confidence.

I'm full of optimism and positivity for this game and I fully intend to enjoy it win, lose or draw.

I believe we can can take all points if we believe in ourselves and have the confidence, persistance, energy and tenacity.

This game marks the beginning of a tougher couple of months, bearing in mind some of the teams we are to be playing, so a win here would be an incredible boost.

Look they are just a football team in the same league as us and there is nothing special about Newcastle other than the fact, they have still retained some of their premiership players. If they where that good they wouldn’t of got relegated would they?

I don’t understand why people are worried about them when in reality we have more than enough to hurt them they are just very well organized and have got off to a very good start. I think this game will depend on the attitude of our players and how we approach the game and I think our fans especially at home could have a big part to play, lets be honest, it’s only Newcastle so please put things in to perspective, they aren’t that good .

Putting things in to perspective, in this division, they are a very good side.

When I saw Newcastle on the box early on. I think it was against Reading. The size and physical strength just blew Reading of the pitch. I think that would of been us a couple of years ago. I'd like to see Dele up front with Dex or Earnie and maybe start with the Mousse. Its a tricky call because although I don't want to see raddy left out, he might be too lightweight in a midfield including Ando and Tyson.
Would it be possible to pick a side that did incorporate Mousse, Mckenna and Raddy?

"It's all about belief and staying positive. The negativity has to be removed from this football club. The majority of this crowd are fantastic but there's a minority who get impatient. They have to understand what this game is about," said Davies.

"Stay positive, stay behind us and keep creating this wonderful spirit at the City Ground. Let clubs fear coming here, let them fear coming to a place where the crowd is behind the team from the first minute to the last. If we can do that then, in my opinion, there's no limit to where this group of players can get to.

"The fans have to believe in us, they have to stay with us because we are on the right road. We have a lot of work to do but, if they keep believing in us, you will see the response."

But so are we mate you only have to look at recent results and on the whole our performances this season have been excellent bar Watford. I think Newcastle will be just as worried about us as we are of them and lets not forget, we nearly always play better against better teams who allow us to play.

I personally think we'll be fine and it should be a very good game, i can't wait.

Absolutely! Newcastle should be worried and if they're not then they run the risk of tripping over their arrogance and complacency.

Hoepfully there will be an atmosphere for this one which matches the D*rby game. It's a challenge we should be relishing,I think we will run them close win lose or draw.

We'll win 1-0 or draw 1-1 I think

I'd happily take a point though, that would be 10 from 12, and I'm not expecting us to beat the top teams in this division

Expect Earnshaw and Blackstock/Adebola to start.

Billy likes experience against experience and they're our most experienced strikers.

Reckon we might have a left back in by then too.

1-1 draw.

If the game were on Tuesday I could see us walking it! but seeing as we've got to wait 2 weeks for the next match to come around maybe we could lose momentum in that time.

OR Billy could be right in that the time off will help rejuvenate the players - maybe have another friendly match with a few possible signings

It's also worth consideration that Newcastle will also be subjected to International 'call ups', so the rest for us is one we may be able to use to our advantage.

Can anyone confirm which Newcastle players may be playing in the Internationals?

Colloccini, Gutierrez, Kisanishvilli I think. They don't have that many full internationals now, just high-class English players on the whole.

Steven Taylor, Nolan, Ryan Taylor, Steve Harper, Alan Smith, Marlon and Andy Carroll.
