Neco Shay Williams of WALES

It was obvious immediately after he did it he was on his haunches head bowed. He looked devastated.
Need to show him the love when he’s back next week.
NECO! NECO!NECO!
Given that over the last couple of years he's been one of our most consistent and good performers, I really can't fathom why anyone would want to throw Neco under the bus for it, in terms of what he did it was clearly a genuine mistake and it didn't really cost us (in terms of the outcome it clearly denied a goalscoring opportunity - it was going in and nothing else could stop it - so if he hadn't done it we would have conceded anyway. The only thing that could have denied us a goal is if their player had missed the penalty completely because there's little chance Sels (even if he wasn't injured) would be saving an on target PL pen (it is only shootouts he has saved any). The only thing which would have affected it is if he had let it go in we would have played the 2nd half with 11 players.

I think even Nikola has made a few mistakes which have led to goals this season and that's really Neco's first in a long time. Happens to all defenders

Haha the worst thing for the lad is that absolutely nobody in that changing room will be mad at him in the slightest, he'll just be getting the piss ripped out of him all week. I guarantee for the first session they'll all be shouting handball every time he touches it and they probably laid out some goalie gloves with his training kit.

I honestly expected an easy six points from the Palace and Leeds games, and the poor results mainly came down to Neco Williams’ handball and sending off. At 1–1 with eleven men, I still think we would have gone on to beat Crystal Palace. They defended well, but it forced Murillo to work even harder, and his injury, along with Williams’ absence, really showed how much we rely on that quality and drive from the back.

Williams has probably been my player of the season so far for his consistency, which makes it even more frustrating as those moments have had a big impact on the last two games. He knows it, has apologised to the fans, and now I’m hoping he comes back and puts in a great shift against Wolves.

I was judging it after Brentford's performance . The confidence was high and Crystal Palace were poor against us with 10 men for 45 minutes. We were looking good and it seems like it has gone downhill again since the sending off , which has now messed up the structure of the team.

Must say, with the injuries to Sels and Murillo, the absence of Neco was very unfortunate to say the least. But he has credit in the bank, so it's hard to be too down on him.

It wasn't so much his absence that created the problems at Leeds, but the odd way SD had of solving the problem.

He does deserve a bit of the blame.

His moment of stupidity meant he was unavailable.

Brentford's was considerably better, surely? But we weren't missing folk.

But, it's Leeds. Not Barcelona or Arsenal. Shitty Leeds. Draw specialists.
At home they've won 6, drawn 4 and lost 3, of their 29 points, 22 have been won at home. They are like us in 22/23 because away from home they are abysmal.

Their draws by the way were against Man U (Same as us), Newcastle (I'd take a point for us) , Bournemouth (If we could get a point it would be nice because well its bloody Bournemouth innit) and Liverpool (Again a point would be decent for us) so its not Barcelona or Arsenal admittedly but its also a bit unfair imho to be overly critical of their home form when it is far far superior to ours.
