Percy has liked it so must be true. In Marinakis we trust.

I think why not,

would give us a front 3 of out an out strikers in Awoniyi, Surridge, & Maupay. (Taylor will leave)

Dennis and Johnson can both play wider, or up top giving up plenty of movement and options in game.
It does give us options but I think Cooper is going to really have some headaches soon when it comes to keeping players happy.
We're buying first team players to sit on the bench, and to be honest Maupay never really impressed me. He was in my fantasy team for a while last year and failed hard though so i might be biased.

Maupay reminds me of knockaert (probably just Brighton connection) Great on highlights and clearly very skilful, but we just didn’t see much end result and reading Brighton comments this might be the same result.

Was great at Brentford, not so much at Brighton imho.

But I guess he's in the 10 goals per EPL season, give or take.

I suspect the ongoing buying frenzy show that our approach this season is squad football - rotation and tactical changes from the bench. Last season, it was a very much a settled XI - I doubt that's repeatable.

Would be a yes from me - has experience in Premier League and if he can chip in with 8-10 goals could be vital.

With the 5 subs rule this season having plenty of options can only be good for us. Look as the bench last Saturday it was very light of quality options.

I understand it may be deemed as excess but I am very suprised by the reaction to the actual player.

He has missed chances at Brighton but he is a real menace and has a good all round game, and actually scored very important goals for them. Brighton didn't lose when he scored last season. I think he's exactly the sort of player that Cooper will have targeted personally.

I know Lincs_Red's Brighton mate says he would drive him up the M1 but most Brighton fans really like him.

I have always said we needed 4 main strikers and have the option of 2 off the bench every game. I had expected a Davis type as the 4th but I certainly wouldn't grumble at Maupey. Different player, but can hold the ball up and link play very well. I wouldn't be suprised if he ends up being the main man.

I think the price quoted there is a very good deal.

I’m not sure SC is a squad rotation merchant-I expect him to follow his ‘next man up’ approach.
However,we need additional quality signings to ensure our bench is not full of lower-mid Championship
players and kids (which means inevitable relegation).
The squad is bound to be needed when injuries and suspensions invariably occur.
