Looking around and the opinion on our forum seems to be different to others, there is a lot defending Southgate because of his record (or maybe they just haven’t posted here yet!)

I wonder if that’s because the comparisons to Hughton are so right.

A guy dining off previous success, saying he will get it right based on nothing but deep down hope - when the football being played is dour, lifeless and dysfunctional.

Gives a nice interview, is an inoffensive and nice guy and the players think he is a good guy.

Hopefully they don’t replace him with Super Cooper as well!

Thing is there isn’t even a comparison to Hughton. Southgate has failed in every job he has had. Only one result I can think of that has been good Germany in the euros and maybe Spain away in the nations league. Otherwise it’s been standard or dross. I think it’s unfair to compare even Southgate to Hughton. Hughton can at least point to his very very impressive championship record yes he might over the hill now but what can Southgate point to? Beating Germany at Wembley 2-0?

Does this class as a meltdown? We are so deprived of them, it has to be England that gives us one.

Anyone else finding it hard to get up for England after forest this year really couldn't care less but would like Southgate to buck his ideas up a bit as I've already seen coopers name linked loads

Says it all that Southgate turns to Mason Mount to rescue a game.

And why are Stones and Walker so negative in comparison to there club form. Stones is fantastic at taking the ball into the midfield for Citeh but just passes sideways or backwards in an England shirt.

Can't blame the ref for the result but a yellow card for being ran into is Championship level reffing.

Couldn't be arsed to watch the game, but judging by the comments on here, sounded like they played like Hughton's Forest.

Southgate also told all us us that we should be embarrassed by the euro final wankers. Pretty sure I had sod all to do with organising the event. He’s a patsy.

It’s also very boorish to hear how he speaks well on social issues when he’s a football manager not a political commentator. I don’t give a flying fook what a footballer or a football manager has to say. I just want to see results. Don’t get me wrong there are those who are unfair by saying that his commentary is getting in the way of his management which is rubbish but equally I couldn’t give a flying shit what he has to say or not I just want to watch a good England.

Southgate's defensive nature cost us the Euro Final. He had taken the team as far as he could. He will now continue to take them backwards until someone has the decency to put a stop to it. Unfortunately because he does the woke thing so well the FA will do sweet FA and let him continue.

When is England's team sheet for tomorrow going to be leaked online?

Well, on the Italian side despite much talk in the week about the return of Immobile he's gone and broke himself and joins Chiesa, Berardi, Florenzi, Insigne, Locatelli, Spinazzola, Verratti, Pellegrini, Politano and Tonali on the 'injured' list.

So does that mean he's Immobile now then?
