I do wish Murillo hadn't said in interview in Brazil what he is quoted as saying.
It may be true that he joined Forest as a stepping stone to a "big club", and it may be true Forest invested the £12m in the hope of turning a big profit.
However, it is frankly bad form to be shooting his mouth off while still a Forest player.
If/when he is sold and gets his big club move, then would be the time to give such interviews.
He has gone down in my estimation now as a person.
I think he's just showing his age a little bit.

It certainly hasn't strengthened Forest's position though, that's for sure.

But it’s a fantastic position to be in.
Sell for a huge profit or keep for another year doing what he does best which is stopping goals.
I would love to see him moved forward as a DM, no only to see if he can play there but also to increase his value if he can do well in that position.

Obviously will need another CB to do that but why not, can’t hurt to try in pre season.

Ambitious guy, I suspect he'll be here next season, his stock will continue to rise, but I can't see the numbers being bandied around materialising for a year or two. Having sorted out our finances and his long contract I'm almost sure we'll get another season out of him.

None of us know anything. Given his ability and considering his limited senior experience and trajectory, the gap between his value today and his value a year from now, and probably two years from now, would seem to me to be wider than anyone in our squad. Wider and hugely profitable. It doesn’t make sense to me personally to consider selling him this year, just as it gripped my shit beyond belief to think about selling him on the cheap in June.

When figures get exaggerated, I think it’s fans demanding next years value for the player, if someone wants to rip him from us this year (early). Because they’re supremely confident he’ll reach that value. I am too. Given that all seems sensible to me, I give the club credit that they’ll look at it the same way, and media reports have been of high figures, however reliable they are. I don’t think it’s likely that another club will pay next years value this summer. But we know nothing.

My read on his agent is that maybe we implied a quicker sell-on as part of our package last summer. The lad himself seems grounded and good natured, so I’m reasonably confident it won’t impact him.

His comments have certainly been blown out of all proportions which will no doubt delight his agent. As if he'd come out and said he planned on seeing out his career at Forest. Like it or not we are a stepping stone club as most are. He's ambitious and wants to play at as high a level as possible. Maybe some players don't openly admit it as such but no-one should be surprised or shocked.

Right now he certainly doesn't seem to be a first choice pick for any of the top 6 and if he did move now who's to say he'd be a starter. Player's careers have stalled in the past with moving too early then lack of game time. I don't think he'll move in this window and don't think he'll cause much of a stink if that's the case. He has Carlos Miguel coming in which'll help his moral along with Danillo.

No, I think we've got him until at least January. EM won't be accepting the kind of bids that'll come in this window. If he starts the season in similar form we won't be able to hold on for long but I expect his price is only going to increase in that case.

Young, modern, technically gifted CB has ambitions to test his self at a level higher than us on the back of an impressive season that's attracted lots of attention

What a joke, I expect all these young players to sign a blood pact with us. Games gone
Was probably sold the dream by us when signing too that moving to Forest being the gateway to Europe, fame and fortune.

I’ve nothing against his comments. Good luck to him, whatever happens.

The few bits i've seen on twitter are embarrassing, although not entirely surprising. Not much point taking a half cooked quote out of context and getting all up in arms over it, the way some people have responded to it you'd think he'd came out saying the clubs wank and he can't wait to get out

Also I don't believe for a second he's the type of player who would spit the dummy out should we not give him a move that he may or may not want, if he's here next season he'll be as committed as he was last season and if he's not here it will be because someone has met something close to our valuation for him, and rightfully that isn't £40m. Not sure what people are taking offence to

It's not that. I don't think many expect him to stay, do they?

There are ways of doing things though. Remember when Lukaku started talking about going back to Inter two months after re-signing for Chelsea? It didn't help his then-current club out very much, but he got what he wanted.

Similarly, this doesn't help us all that much either, but it might get him what he wants.

I would've thought the club would have protocols for this sort thing, i.e telling players not to mention that they're actively looking for a move, as it doesn't exactly help Forest's negotiating position. Even a 5m difference is a lot for us.

To be honest £70m is adventurous and highly unlikely at this point but a figure of around £50m is very possible, Calafiori is the better 'technical' young LCB and he's looking at a £50m move to Arsenal from Bologna. Murillo isn't a million miles behind and he's already some what tested in the PL, I don't think it's too optimistic to find a buyer at £50m when you include the PL tax

For what it's worth I mostly agree with you, anything around £50m i'd be more than willing to let him go. But we know Marinakis is a stubborn operator especially when it comes to selling players, if there's truth in what's been said that the club values him at £70m (no idea if this is true) then i'd expect we'll be holding out for something close

If we don't get a price we see fit he'll be playing here next season that's for sure, I expect Chelsea to try for him since they've lost out to Arsenal on Calafiori but I can't see them coming in at £70m. Seems like they want to offload players and i'm not convinced we'd be interested in a deal that isn't pure £££

Definitely agree about MGW he's such a vital component to the way we play, Murillo is entertaining and clearly full of potential but we could plug that gap much easier

No good this dragging on for 2 months. Completely changes our transfer approach/available funds. Make a decision and quickly move forward on that basis.

tell that to the top clubs who are chasing murillo. Hope they don't leave it till last minute like what we did with sangera.

Not if he becomes the weapon that we all think he will.

We need another year from him to help us rise more than we need the money.
