Moussi set to return

First Team Squad
Moussi Set To Return
Fri 04 Sep 2009
Guy Moussi is expected to make his return to action next week after a frustrating time with injuries.

The Nottingham Forest midfielder, who starred on his arrival at the club last summer, missed most of last season following a knee ligament injury.

And the Frenchman's hopes of making an impact this season suffered a further blow when a thigh strain picked up before the Championship campaign got underway sidelined him again.

Now Forest boss Billy Davies has arranged an away friendly with Aston Villa next Wednesday and is hoping that Moussi will be ready to play in it to step up his return to action.

Kelvin Wilson, who played 45 minutes of a friendly against Watford last Wednesday, will continue his comeback in the Villa game.

Said Davies: "We don't want to rush anyone but we are so thin on the ground it is important we get some of our injured players back on the field to strengthen the squad we have at the moment."

Julian Bennett and James Perch are long term casualties, Lewis McGugan is recovering from a fractured cheekbone and Joel Lynch is currently out of action with a back problem.

Whilst getting to look at Premiership reserves that might help our squad numbers :)

It's good that Moose is back, always good to have options.

But how will he fit into the squad, we already have a pretty decent midfield line-up...

I'd like to see a midfield three of McKenna & Moose 'holding' with Majewski given licence to roam.

Tyson wide left, Anderson wide right. Dele or Dexter through the middle.

Could be devastating.

Yea, I think he is going to have to be patient and wait for his chance. Then, when he plays, do all he can to make an impression. Hopeful he can come good eventually to be honest.

I like the sound of that. Dexter though

Moussi will come in when we needed to rest McKenna or even Majewski. Both McKenna & Majewski has played in a lot of matches this season , will need a rest at some point.

So a 4-5-1 And where would that leave Cohen? And McGugan?

6 strikers and only starting 1?

Being a manager must be pretty hard when you think about it....

I think the Blackburn game will be an ideal opportunity for the likes of Moussi and Wilson to get a game and give the likes of McKenna and Morgan a rest.

an unusual rumour, a player feigning injury off the pitch.

Cohen - sub, comes on to give Moussi or McKenna a rest. Or even Tyson. In fact he can play the Tyson position away from home.

McGugan - Injured.

And technically I've started two of the six strikers.

Me too. Dele is a useful option though.

f***ing hell, I love this team more than I have done for many a year.

Would be great to have him back. I guess McKenna may need a rest at some point. No point having the guy play 40 odd games and being knackered for the second half of the season.

Don't put all our hopes on Majewski. We like his potential but he hasn't. imho, quite got the fitness to manage a whole game. It's a catch 22 situation - playing is the best way to sharpen your fitness, but there are other players who have more of a motor than him (at the moment) and play through to the end of the game. Things are going to develop for Forest as players find fitness and form (and play in their best positions). Moussi will be a great option for us - could share games with Majewski until they both are fit.....

TBH, Moussi, McKenna and Cohen get a game ahead of McGugan.

I think your about spot on formation wise... BD keeps saying that Cohen will be in the middle with Mckenna and that must be the formation he's thinking of (Moose to be replaced with Cohen once the defence sorts its self out). That role behind the front man is tailor made for Majewski. He'd be scary with that sort of freedom.

My team of choice may be deemed conterversial with the attacking choice but I think Mcgoldrick is the most rounded player (Bar Commons)....

Smith
Chambers Wes
Gunter Lynch

Mckenna Cohen

Ando Majewski Tyson

Mcgoldrick

Earnie would be in the starting line up if we revert to a 442, otherwise I cant see where he'd play. To me that team is solid as a rock. Especially with all the alternative options to mix it up,.

I heard that. And that he has been told to get back to training pretty sharpish.

I think someone told me, but I might have read it on here somewhere, sounds like bollocks anyway :)
