Moussi out for a month

Gary

No wonder my post count..
Guy Moussi has joined James Perch and Julian Bennett on the injury list ahead of Nottingham Forest's Championship opener at Reading tomorrow (kick-off 3pm).

The French midfielder is nursing a thigh strain that manager Billy Davies fears could keep him out for up to a month.

It's a further blow for Moussi whose first season at The City Ground was disrupted by injury, restricting him to just 17 appearances.

Perch will be missing for three months with a stress fracture of the tibia, while Bennett has been out of action since Boxing Day with a serious knee ligament problem - although Davies has revealed he has resumed light running.

Davies can at least call upon his nine summer signings for the curtain raiser against Reading at The Madejski Stadium.

The Scot now has six senior strikers at his disposal and knows he will have to disappoint at least a couple of them tomorrow by omitting them from his starting line-up.

But managers can now name seven substitutes in the Football League which means all six will almost certainly be named in the Forest 18.

Shame for Moussi. I really want to see him given a good run in the team.

A blow this, as he was my MOTM at the Madski last season. However, it's hardly the end of the world as the midfield looks much stronger this season.

Time for our Polish wonderkid to shine.

Feel for the lad but not to worrying due to our signings and the fact he hasn't really figured for us as yet anyway, As i've previously stated if fit he wouldn't be in my side anyway...still when fit what an option.
Isn't it nice when we have a few injuries it's not a bloody crisis as in years gone by.

C'mon you reds for tomorrow :nowink:

At least with all the options we have in midfield there'll be no need to rush him back this time.
