MOUSSI NEARS COMEBACK

Good news.

I've always been concerned that McKenna getting a knock would leave us a short of a hard tackling midfielder.

McKenna's been looking a bit tired in the past few games aswell. I think he might have been rested for either Coventry or Brum if Moussi was fit.

I think you're right - but because of the uncertainty of Moussi I believe he will try to get another McKenna type player in on loan until the end of the season.

Possibly someone with experience from the Prem.

Guy Moussi doesn't use the Caps Lock on his keyboard, his letters know when they need to be capitalised.

Would be more constructive if you was to put a relevent post together instead of looking for cheap knocks. :p

:D Point taken - I shall now make a relevent post as requested. Is it likely that Moussi will be ready to play in the replay versus Birmingham, that would seem thr ideal game to rest McKenna for?

I can't see Billy bringing in cover for McKenna myself, I think he'll make do with a mix of Moussi, Perch and Cohen. Square pegs and all that, but it seems a waste of a loan to being in someone who'd be a reserve most weeks.

I tend to agree with that but don't let's forget what BD actually said a couple of weeks back - He wanted at least 3 new signings within the Jan. window and one was a Central Mid-Fielder.

Buy or loan we do need the cover if Moussi ain't reliable and McKenna gets a knock.

I'm not sure if Cohen/Perch or McGugan can play the same roll as the skipper, and at this time of year I wouldn't gamble on either of them trying.

So when are we going to sign Chuck Norris as a hard tackling midfielder?

Having Moussi back is useful in giving us another option if Billy wants to play five in midfield.

I don't think McKenna will be rested anytime soon, Saturday would have been an ideal time but he was still in the team.

We all know McKenna is invaluable to the team, but sitting in the stands for this last couple of games we can see the number of mistakes he's making with some dreadful passing. On the other hand - his presents to motivate those around him by barking out his orders and his shear influence out there means it would be very difficult to leave him out.

BD has subbed him a few times in hope of giving him some respite but only when the game has been virtually won. I'm sure McKenna himself would welcome a rest but at the moment it ain't going to happen unless we do bring someone in with equal calibre.
