Young English talent has always came at a premium, Anderson is definitely worth more than £10m but £35m is still an inflated price, presumably structured to our benefitI genuinely just think people don't have a good grasp on what players can sell for. There has never been any logic in the amount Premier League players go for.
Let's not forget MGW, where most people thought we were insane paying what we did including a lot of our supporters. Again you look at the Anderson thread & people saying he's not worth more than £10m. It would be a valid viewpoint if it were 2010.
The inflated price of Niakhate is more surprising to me, good player and nothing bad to say about him but he's 28 years old and couldn't play himself into one of the weakest defences in the PL. Suddenly Lyon are interested for ~£25m, no offence to Lyon but they're not the type of club you'd expect to start throwing this type of money around for this type of player
