First Team Squad
been saving my EMA up for a while now and wondering what people estimate the U18s season tickets at next season?

A: if we go up
B: is we stay in the championship

more, if we stay down

This is Forest, who did indeed charge us more for staying down, after promising a price freeze if we went up...

If we go up - more, if we stay down - about the same.
If we don't get up we could use that as an as excuse to raise ticket prices. We could say we were going to put the money into improving the first team.

All we need is for a catchy phrase to reel in the punters. I don't know. Something like 'We're really going to have a stab at going up this time round' or similar.....

Hmm...I see where youre going with this, Eric....

"We're going to have a stab at promotion?"

"We're serious about mounting a challenge?"

Can't quite think of a REALLY catchy one.....

I think you need to somehow imply the fans aren't, hmm, what's the word... don't believe in promotion, maybe?

"We're serious about the possibilty of having a go at going up, and we're sort of hoping that you're all up for it aswell?"

That could work?

I think we're onto something.

'We think promotion is a serious possibility, how about you?'

If we stay down, then they will use this promotion challenge as an excuse to hike up season ticket prices. I would expect my ticket in the Trent End to go up to around the £400 mark.

We think we could be serious contenders (for the forth coming season) for promotion - We now everything in place and we like the idea of getting into the Premiership now that we've aquired a real left footed left full back.

That's good - just needs a little coda - a hook for the masses.

How about:

We think we ......blah blah...... left full back: Would you kindly indicate whether or not you might be similarly inclined?

It's getting there, but it's just not quite snappy enough....

We're wondering about getting a left back so we could be serious promotion contenders, are you thinking that's a good idea too?

Doughty;

The Acquisition Panel and I are firmly behind the manager and we are happy to go along with his beliefs that we will not be ready for promotion within the next couple of seasons or so.

We are a club in progress and if you stick with us your season ticket money will go a long way to ensuring that promotion could be obtained before 2015 but before then we will consider letting the manager buy or loan at least one player during a January window some time soon.

.....are you?

Nope. Still not quite right!

Miserable git, and proud.
The quote for 2010/11 season tickets will go something like: "you want promotion, you pay the money"!!!

No. Honesty doesn't work in advertising.

We have to find a way around the harsh truth and come up with something that not only disguises that but asks questions of the buyer.

I like the 'We're serious about.....' start. That could work.

Errmm Wont they all go up either way as VAT is back at 17.5%. I reckon at least a 2.5% increase! lol

As I recall, we never got the benefit of the 2.5% reduction when it went down....

That was in March last year shortly after the 08-09 mid-season when they introduced the VAT reduction.

I would have thought season ticket sales at time of invoice July/August would have been @15% VAT for the current season, hence they would go up.

Anyone with a ST still got their receipt to see if it says 15% or 17.5%

In that case our prices went up by an extra 2.5% (or 2.1% if you do the maths I think it comes out at), as there was no reflection of the VAT change in our ticket prices.

ooh Crafty. Must have as would have been illegal to sell at 17.5% VAT last July/Aug.

So instead of freezing they used the offset to increase base prices and this year they'll claim the VAT back to 17.5% so another £5 per £200.
