Mist rolling in from the trent song?

Problem is you can never hear it because it's always drowned out by them insisting on playing Mull of Kintyre so load over the PA that you can hardly hear the fans singing.

I find it annoying that the song played over the PA is so slow, so when the Forest fans start singing "City Ground" it get's out of sync...

It's good that they play it to get the crowd going but yeah, it's SO loud, and they should cut it half way through.

I remember at the Derby league home game last season, Forest had booked a marching band to play Mull of Kintyre.

It didnt work because you couldnt hear it over the Derby fans, who were in full voice that day.

It desperately needs to be re-recorded with the correct words and tempo.

Also, playing it before the start of both halves is embarrassing and ruins any possible impact completely.

I am sure I remember in the 1980's fans singing.
"turds floating in on the Trent"
I assumed as a reference to the visiting fans?

I think its the fans who spoil it by singing it too fast.

Agreed, always seemed daft to me too, just becomes a dumb series of yelps. You don't see Liverpool fans sing "You'll Never Walk Alone" at three times speed, that would be equally stupid.

All the chants are sung way too quick. Totally loses impact. On tv a few weeks ago I heard Spurs singing Oh when the spurs go marching in. It was super slow and much more impressive.
Even the the cries of youuuuredssss by pockets of individuals is starting to sound embarassing :nowink:

Couldn't agree more.
Start playing it to get the crowd going then fade it out and let the crowd take over. It's not rocket science, why the f*** hasn't whoever plays the music over the PA thought of it??

Agreed also the PA announcer is a complete Muppet!, seems also that it's too near KO time to get the desired impact

Funny you should mention that, I noticed the Spurs fans doing that too. Seemed a little too slow to me but was very noticable

The verse never gets sung nowadays though which, in my eyes, is something of a travesty. Does anyone know why this is? Is it the fact that the majority of the younger Victor Chandler Corner element of the crowd don't know it?

I wish we could somehow get the verse going again because the chorus being sung on a constant loop (and much too fast) makes it seem like Forest fans can't cope with anything longer!

Its often sung by 8 of us in V1!!!

There is actually a second verse 2 but I haven't heard it since the early 80's and can't remember it.

I'd like to see 'Lost that loving feeling' not played at kick off and instead play the whole song.

Good on you! Get others around you to join in if possible and then hopefully it will start to spread. I often think it would be incredible if we could get the whole ground singing it in its entirety before every home fixture.

I agree that the playing of snippets of both before each half doesn't work. 'Lost That Loving Feeling' still has its place at the City Ground but 'City Ground' should be reserved as the pre-match anthem with 'Lost That Loving' played before the second half (or the 'Bring back that loving feeling' part if we're losing).

Who's actually responsible for the non-HMV part of the playlist?

Miserable git, and proud.
The full words are in the Forest v Derby League game programme from last season, I doubt (regrettably) they'll ever be sung again though.

You sometimes get both verses going at away games, can't ever remember them being sung at home. Although a bloke near me regularly belts out the whole song, on his own. :D

Lets face it, the whole crowd will never sing the whole song.

It is simply too long.

Is one verse (that's all I initially suggested) interspersed with the chorus really too long though? Liverpool seem to manage well enough with the whole of 'You'll Never Walk Alone'. Don't tell me the Scousers are somehow better equipped mentally to cope with a whole song!
