Mindless Speculation...

Amidst the frustration over lack of signings I wondered whether there was a deliberate policy over season tickets sales involved....

...by all accounts, Forest ST's have sold well. Historically, Forest have used new signings to boost ST sales, but this year that has not been required (as much).

The case for Swansea and Cardiff (to pick two random clubs!) is that they need to maximise ST sales amongst news of managerial changes and money probs.

So my speculation was that maybe the announced and/or final agreement includes an embargo over any announcement insisted upon by the selling clubs..

Of course, It may be that have made a real hash of it all and no one is coming!

I'd be suprised, it's okay waiting a bit but you'd still want players you have signed with your squad for some of pre-season, it makes no sense at all not too. Also we'd probably have sold even more season tickets if we had announced a few signings.

I don't know about swansea but cardiff have plenty of reasons not to want to announce any departures until as late as possible, not least that it could trigger a player exodus of biblical proportions. On the other hand it's not clear to me whether their transfer embargo includes departures as well as arrivals. They will be wound up on the 11th anyway so perchance we can get him for free.

Yes but players are still getting a pre-season even if they are with another club. I mean yes obviously you want them to be bonding with the other players in the team but as long as they are fit and still training all the rest is irrelevant IMO
