Mike Kear

As a keen student of our Double-chasing 1966/67 team, I was sorry to see that Mike Kear has died. He only made intermittent appearances in his 4 years at Forest as we were generally well stocked with wingers, but he contributed three goals to our title challenge in the spring of 1967. RIP.

I saw Mike Kear score in a 3-1 win against Southampton on 1 April 1967 (the week before the famous Everton
FA Cup game).

R.I.P. Mike.

I went to every home game that season, and fail to actually remember him.
However I am saddened to read of Forest players passing.

That Southampton game was the one where John ( Bill ) Brindley scored within seconds of coming on as a substitute, he slid in and knocked it in at the far post from a corner at the Trent End.
