• Dear all, LTLF's founder, Stuart Connellan died suddenly a few days ago. If you've not seen it, you may wish to look at the thread in the top section of "Down the Pub" Thank you

Might we regret not taking Charlie?

Do you think Ian McParland could live to make us regret not keeping him on?

Just thinking Charlie might think he has a point to prove to us if they manage to get to the Prem with us and play us in a competitive game.

Might he have gotten us promoted from League 1? Might he have fared better in this league than Calderwood? Might he have become a better manager than BD with this experience?

Won't happen. He'll be shuffled out of the Notts County door at the earliest possible opportunity so Sven can get one of his chums in.

Thought this thread was going to be about drug taking when i opened it !

Yeah, that was half the reason I started it, lol. I was thinking about playing Notts, and the thread title appeared to me like a premonition of the quality insightful conversation that will unfold on this topic.

Are you on charlie?

Because there is no evidence to suggest that he is a good manager yet, I would say a big fat no to all the above.

He really struggled with Notts until they spent a bit of money and they are still over reliant on their home form.

Ha, Charlie won't be there come Christmas regardless.

Shame really, he was showing signs of promise with his signings before the Svendemonium kicked in.

Charlie has over acheived at Notts in my opinion. He's had very limited finances and it was his first major appointment.

For him to keep them in the Football League with a hotch-potch squad says to me he'll find another post somewhere else pretty soon if he was to get the boot.

Just another roll of the Dyche
Unfortunately he won't get the opportunity with Notts, as they will have a higher profile manager in before too long. But I would like to think he'll get another chance somewhere else to prove himself. He's a good coach & needs experience to turn him into a good manager - which I think he will be.

i said no but i think him and Frank could have got us up the season after they stepped in for Megson, whilst Colin failed.
