I don't know how realible it is but if we get to the Prem Doughty will still be club chairman but will involved Middle Eastern Investment to ensure we stay and compete in the Prem.

This is something i have heard and like me take it with a pinch of salt until otherwise but have been also told that its also to finance the New Stadium.

Doughty has the club in his heart so he will do it in the correct matter and will avoid copying the Notts County circus. :)

I wouldn't have thought that Doughty will want to dilute his investment in Forest. And I can't imagine 'Middle East' investors with any crediility wanting to play 2nd fiddle.

Doughty has always been quite resolute about the clubs finances being on secure footing from footballing income with a top up from him. Why would he need to change this in the prem when the football incoming will go up siginificantly?

I know Stoke,Burnley and Hull have not got billionaire owners but to really compete in the Prem you need billions behind you, opposed to millions which was ok when we were last in the Prem but that was 10 years ago.But Doughty lost a fair bit in the recession if you look at the rich list and he will have to spare £20m when we get there to buy player and sadly that won't be enough to cover wages too.Be nice if things turned out to be same like it is at Aston Villa where Randy Learner keeps his nose out as MON know all about football.

I'd rather we came back down like Derby than took foreign investment off someone to become their play thing.

With the greatest of respect to the person starting the thread though I just think it's bollocks anyway.

You don't have a good grasp of the geography do you?

The 'middle east' is not a country. And Dubai is one city in one of the emirates. There are some 'middle east' peoples whose wealth could pay off the $50bn dollars that Dubai has without noticing it.

The wealth of the 'middle east' will only dry up when the oil does. And that is a long way off.

I know that numb nuts ;D

I couldn't be arsed to type a longer, clearer post.

Anyway, I expect there to be a lot less of this Arab money flooding into football. Feel free to disagree.

I am not sure that the cash is drying up but their interest is certainly waining. Also, it seems that many of the Arabs that are showing an interest are the ones that do not have sufficient cash i.e. The dodgy fellas at Pompey.

What I don't understand is we get all those massive payments if we get promoted. Do we need other investment to compete?
