Meet the New-Look Recruitment Team (The same as the old team (nearly))

I believe EM has already put £100's millions of his own money into Forest. The fact that we are stretching PSR/FFP to the absolute limits means he must have put the maximum amount (he's allowed to by the rules) of his own money into the club.

I, for one, am very grateful to have an owner who not only funds us heavily, has almost unbelievable ambition, and who seemingly loves the club as a genuine fan.

I believe, but may be incorrect, he and his family are the biggest investors into Nottingham, as a City and not just the club. If not now, they will be if the collective council's agree to his stadium and training facility plans. They're huge plans!
To be fair he may have put a lot of money in, I'm not sure of the figures but the main point i was trying to make he doesn't seem to taking money out which is very big factor.

I reckon it’s a Brazilian club next on the shopping list with this (rumoured) appointment.

I bet EM is rubbing his hands together at the thought of snaffling up all that young Brazilian talent on the cheap and then moving them on to Rio Ave, Olympiakos and Forest.

If he joins likely to be Wilson's boss

His remit thought to be to oversee football matters for all Marinakis football interests to include buying new clubs.

From what I have read. EM is setting up a holding company to manage his group of clubs and there will be a group DoF - I assume that this would be Edu.
Apparently this is how Man City are structured and all administration costs for all of the clubs are paid for by the Holding company. - I have no idea, but would assume this somehow helps with PSR compliance
Thanks guys

Can only be positive if true

I thought this move was over-ambitious when it was rumoured in the summer but i'm starting to get to grips with the Big Mans actual ambition, when he says something he bloody means it.

Not sure if anyone else watched the behind the scenes documentary at Arsenal a couple of years back, Edu featured heavily and seemed to be a pivotal figure at Arsenal, this can only be great news for us and the sisters.

Yep. I wonder if Edu is key to that Brazilian acquisition?

The thing with Edu is that, if I understand correctly, he's used to working with a team of countless scouters, who write very detailed reports, and he then writes a book about potential target with all kinds of data and analysis. Do you have such a team? I know Syrianos has built a team of data freaks like him but is it enough?

Unless Edu switches to a more DoF role for the whole group as you say, but that would be spectacularly unfair to Syrianos, who now officially has this exact role.

Evening everyone, hope you’re doing well. Here’s a 2 minute video detailing everything you need to know about Edu Gaspar and why bringing him in from Arsenal is such a big deal for Marinakis. It’s great to see Forest back in the big time, and I can only see the progress continuing with Edu at the helm!

The timing of bringing Edu in suggests a couple of things to me. Firstly being that Marinakis would not have been happy about all of our proposed list of strikers in the summer never materialised into a single singing with the main targets turning us down. He won't want a repeat of that and this brings Edu in with plenty of time for him to finalise his big prezzie list for Christmas and January.

Secondly Marinakis would appear to have seen his dream European cups entrance door has slowly crept ajar, EM is not allowing the opportunity to pass into a regretful one so he's brought EdU and his size 10 Timberland boots to wedge the door open and remain there and not looking out of place while on an elite patch.

This fella will already have a bumper black book of contacts, knowledge, potentials and respect across major football continents.

Most importantly he can ensure with his knowledge that we never buy anymore worthless shit off Arsenal ever again. He could have named his salary for that priceless piece of recruitment gatekeeping alone.

You make an interesting point GBG. Alternatively, it may be a case of comparing, contrasting and sharing data resources?

It'll be interesting to see how it will all work together, if we're ever privy to that sort of information/speculation. I hope it's a case of everyone pulling together and not too many cooks.

I'll admit now I have no real idea what the difference is between the roles that Ross Wilson, Syrianos, Randall etc all do so I'm unsure how adding another voice affects things.

It's interesting that on the 'Who's who' page of the official website there's no mention of Syrianos at all but it still has Vrentzos as director. It also still says Cartledge is chairman.

I thought EM was after Monza previously?

Hopefully, if it's a Brazilian team, it is Palmeiras. I need an excuse to buy another strip of theirs that I don't fit into!

As a Palmeiras fan, I’m not sure on this. I suppose they are used to losing their best kids to Europe anyway, so if Marinakis can keep them winning anyway while doing it, then it would be ok.

I did dismiss it at first because they wear green, and the big man hates green, but he bought Rio Ave!

With Rio Ave and now Monza rumoured, I think he buys clubs when opportunities arise at the right price, rather than big names, so I suspect it would be a financially stricken club like Corinthians in his sights. Or maybe a smaller club in Sao Paulo or Rio, like Red Bull did with RB Bragantino.

Someone like Guarani (SP) have a decent history and stadium, situated in Campinas (tenth largest metropolitan area in Brazil) just outside SP (important to attract youth talent from SP) and they are just about to get relegated to Serie C. They do wear green though! Or maybe their great rivals Ponte Preta, also fighting relegation to Serie C, who, er, don’t wear green.

My choice would be Bahia, in the northeast. A huge newish stadium, fanatical support and the chance to establish yourself as the premier club in the northeast, where so much talent is drained to the SP and RJ clubs at a young age. Unfortunately, the City Group bagged them in 2023.

Like many I don't know if we need this appointment right now as I'd be concerned over any rocking of the ship now it seems to have finally stabilised over the last 2 seasons. Especially upsetting the recruitment team who have been near flawless recently. But, I really like the idea how EM is making the team part of a wide reaching football (and other sports) empire, using holding companies for staff etc. I'm sure this plays PSR in some form, so if this helps his empire and us, allowing us to exploit a loophole before it is closed for a change, I am for it. I don't know exactly what this guy is responsible for at Arsenal, but there is no arguing they have progressed the last 3 seasons - less the acquisition of Rice (a turn IMHO).

If he was only 35mil I'd argue that was a brilliant deal. Key player in a side that, in some previous seasons, would have won the league with their total points

Less than Beto for Everton, around what they sold nketiah for, I'd take that
I was comparing his fee to MGW when I wrote that comment, I.e not a snip for a club in our position.

It's real but the lip sync is out i.e. sound and image have moved out of time relative to each other by a small amount e.g. ~100ms / ~4 frames

Udi could try moving the audio 1 frame at a time until it looks better - too late now for that video though, unless he accepts any views being zapped

I have to agree on the 2nd point - especially the contact list - that has to be worth whatever he is being paid.

I don't agree with the 1st point on 'failure to land forwards' - this recruitment process started way back before the Summer window.

Ah yeah for us it's a lot, I was just suprised. I know before arsenal signed him he was considered to be someone who wasn't fulfilling his promise, but I'd still assumed he was a 50mil+ player

A colleague of mine is a Guarani fan, he’s been in despair this season 😂
