McSheffry hope

Anyone else wondering if it'd be better if McSheffry doesn't get back to his best this season? If he goes on a great run of goal scoring and play for us, great, it'll help no end staying up, but Brum will want him back.

Maybe its best if he does okay, enough to help in this seasons battle, but has a couple of howlers so Brum leave him on their way to the Prem. Then he can help us get there in the next few seasons :)

this entire plan hinges on how often Paul Smith leaves his line for crosses...

If Brum go up he's somebody's. We would be in a strong position, but would need to meet their valuation and having paid £4M for him will want a sizeable amount back I expect.

For a player just back from injury, his 1st half made you think he might be worth paying for. Lots of promise I thought, and some mean looking set pieces too, nice to see!

I was wondering about this earlier. If Brum do go up, they might sell and perhaps a 2-2.5m valuation would secure him. Given we splashed that out on Earnshaw in the summer, perhaps he will be our big signing in the summer.

A long shot but you never know. If he fits in well we should learn from the past that it's a bad idea to break up a winning team if its possible not to.

Totally agree with you on that. If he gets himself fully fit then there are few better players in this league in my opinion.

If we could sign McSheff and Anderson on permanent contracts in the summer I'd be a very happy red ;D

Birmingham still owe Coventry city some of the £4million they paid him.

He is a Coventry City fan unfortunately and I suspect therefore they will get first refusal. A Coventry fan friend of mine told me he has already hinted at a Coventry return.

As much as I think Coventry would be a step back for the lad I wouldn't rule them out. Who knows though right......?

am with you on this one lads, am thinking anderson and Mcsheffry, plus another centre back (rob jones would be good imo) maybe keep lynch if he carries on would be a good bit of business.............................cud end up alot of money though.

If McSheffrey wants to join in the summer and Birmingham are prepared to sell ND and crew should bite the bullet and get him. We learned that mistake with Huckerby when we should have signed him up when we had the chance, let's hope if the chance arises the board doesn't make the same mistake again.

definitely pull out the chequebook for this one. what a signing he'd be.

I think we need to be looking at a 5.5m summer spending, with Shef and Ando in there, plus Lynch, another cb and poss some decent players who may be cheap, although i cant think of any names yet.

Got to be a fairly expensive summer, but i think should we stay up, acquire the players listed above and a couple more, we can more than compete in this league.

Like Billy always says, we come across teams who have been together for a while, so it makes you think that he will definitely want to keep this one together, with a couple of newbies thown in

Coventry fans have been saying a deal's done for his return, almost since he moved to Blues though. Regardless of what some 'In-the-know' Cov fans might claim, it's the same bullshit unsubstantiated forum talk over and over, Nothing has ever come of it.

If he were to move I think several clubs would be in for him. If Davies can convince him that Forest are a sensible option, with a likelihood of going places, I think we'd have as good a chance as any.

And let's face it, Cov are shite. They will never leave this division. They probably won't go down any season soon, but they certainly aren't likely to threaten a seriously promotion bid any time soon either.

ND and crew will get him if they can get him at the right price, for the right wages, if he is really wanting to play for Forest, if he is willing to accept performance related wages, if he fits in with the current group of players and won't rock the boat and if Birmingham are willing to sell.

Other than the above - no problem.

If Birmingham go up, I can see them maybe letting him go.

Wages, and money for the transfer will be the main points.
I can see him going to us between 1.5M/2M, and then maybe a big wage packet...
We'll have to see.

Yes one bad game ( I didn't even see the game, so he might have done ok for all I know ) makes him a bad player. At his best he would be one of, if not the best player at our club. Just be glad he is here for now, he could keep us up.

Well cheesed off!
Only shining lights were thornill who took his goal with aplomb, osbourne when he came on and mccleary who I thought was superb.

The guy isn't fully fit yet. He had some good touches, but you can tell he isn't back to full fitness
