McSheffery going????

I know he can be recalled by Brum now and since he wasn't in the 16 at Barnsley does anyone else think he will be heading back there now.

I think that he never really got going had a decent game against Swansea on his debut but that was the best we saw from him. Including people like Blackstock, Turner, Gunter and Lynch are bigger priorities now.

I find it amazing he was bought for £4.5m

As davies has gone to great lengths to explain already, McSheffrey needs a pre-season to get fit, he can't do it right now, but he was brought in to plug a gap because even unfit he's got a good foot on him, even when stood still. Nevertheless he's no fitter than Moussi and therefore not much use right now. But Davies maintains he is a great player when fit and any club would want him when he is. Wait and see was his conclusion as to whether we'd move for him in the summer. If he's no use to us, Brum might let him stay as he'll be no more use to them, and Billy might keep him on just to sign him later, or for a last-minute injury crisis once he's turned out for the reserves a couple of times and can provide experienced cover.

I think if we had him from the start of the season, he might of done more.
He came here just to get his fitness...

Goatboy's spot on.

I listened to Billy on the radio yesterday after the match and he was talking as though he was very interested in signing him in the summer.

Without wanting to repeat what has already been said, McSheffrey was brought in to plug a gap - he did that.

He isn't fit and needs a full pre-season - he'll get that whether he's here or at Birmingham.

Personally, I think we'll definitely try and sign him if we stay up as Davies quite obviously rates him.

He basically said yesterday that they're going to sit down on Monday morning and talk about it because I'd imagine Davies will want him here for the rest of the season because we might need him, so it could be a case of where McSheffrey would rather be.

Forest, on the fringes and sometimes getting games, or Birmingham not getting any...

When he's on proper form and fitness he's worth about £3 million. He was scoring goals from midfield for fun at Coventry. And let's be fair, they were f***ing woeful. :D

With a full pre-season behind him he'd be a real asset. His career is effectively over at Brum, and I wouldn't mind seeing him here. But I guess that's dependent on our survival.

I think a fit McSheffery is a good signing. And I like the idea and aim of signing him. The direction BD wants to take this club he has made clear and has really impressed me since he came in. He has made the point that this is a difficult job and has moaned a little I suppose but he knows as a manager what he needs he has made it clear we were never going to cruise to safety and it was going to be a difficult job but his confidence and faith in what he has is immense and for me he has been making the right approach to the job.

You'd also like to think that trying to get McSheffery would rather dampen the fears of those who consider Davies to be a 'hoof it' merchant.

As much as I'm trying not to look too far ahead considering our perilous placement in the league I can't help but feel we should sort out what needs to before we talk about spending huge amounts on luxury players. We need to learn from this seasons mistakes.

A back up or first choice keeper, a handful of defenders, a big striker and wingers are all needed. We should make sure we can fulfil these requirements first before looking to spend big on individuals.

That's if we stay up. If not the goalposts will obviously move but lets just hope we're in this league next year.

personally i think he should stay, give us a bit of depth in the squad.

he may not be 100% but i'd rather have McSheffery than a youth player playing left wing especially now that tyson is injured

dont think we can afford to let anybody go, one injury could ruin us...how is nathan tyson..if hes not fit then id suggest he gets to play left wing and get all creative for us !

If he were fit he'd be playing for Brum week in and out. He's a game changer, a game maker... He's just not up to it at the mo.

Fit, I'd love him.

Nice to see Davies praising McGugan for his positive reaction to his recent moans

As I think someone else just said, I bloody hope he's not going back. With Tyson injured again McSheffrey is now as important a member of the team as anyone else.

Lets not forget he'll be getting fitter by the week, with a bumper 3 weeks training since he last played now. Plus he'll have even more of a point to prove with not playing on sat.

Keep him, play him, reap the rewards I say.

In The Sun today it says we are going to go in for him in the summer, price of £1 million.

If that turns out to be true then it would be an absolute bargin.

Probably just alert other clubs and push he price up though.

could well be that if we get him for £1 million, there may be a very good reason...Birmingham consider him to be injury prone, i hope if we do get him, hes not injury prone and has 5 or so excellent years with us !! he is that good when fit.

to be honest im not sure about him, id wait and see what birmingham ask for him in the summer. If its a lot id think twice. He could be great again when fully fit, but he could also be like a Damien Duff, once brilliant, then had a big injury and never the same player. Still, I guess I'd take Duff at Forest most days of the week, even now, :D

I think Billy has already laid the groundwork for the purchase in the summer. I expect to see Karen Brady moaning about how cheap we got him in her NOTW column.
