was it a good idea of billy's to start with McKenna after such a long layoff. he looked out of it after half an hour and gave the ball away with inaccurate passes quiet a lot. i know we have a small squad but surley mcgugan or even garner could of started

He might now be match fit and match sharp for Tuesday, it's easier to get back in the groove when 27,000 reds are cheering your every tackle and pass. Besides, he's our only fit holding midfielder unless you put Perch there (don't put Perch there).

It's nice to see McKenna back if only for team moral, but i would love to see the Moussi back for tuesday his last 4 or 5 games have been great showing great strength and awareness could of done with him yesterday if i'm honest

I woudlnt play him Tuesday. Majewski and Moussi (if fit) in the middle. Then bring McKenna back for final...

There's a few on here that cream over McKenna, maybe billy does too. imo he makes the usual ccc mix of misplaced and accurate passes, where he stands out is in his leadership.

Moose has some kind of injury.

I thought McKenna did okay, the criticisms I've seen levelled at him were the same as the ones that people said about it when he was fully fit before.

Moussi has a groin injury. Not sure if he will be available on Tuesday

Wait until Tuesday night. McKenna distributes the ball excellently, and on a nice pitch watch him split their defence.

At the least its given mckenna some playing team and will have been the best way to get him into shape for tuesday and the final if we overturn the deficit

I thought McKenna had a reasonable game considering it's his first competitive game for what seems like an age. As his match fitness improves his contribution will become more evident.

We need to play to our strengths and McKenna is an important part of our team. Provision should be made to substitute him should he tire but I believe him starting on Tuesday evening is essential.

If Moussi is not fit we will have little choice but to start him, even though he is not the same player when not 100% fit. However, our recent home form suggests that we will be just fine without Kenna, Moussi has been great in central midfield and I would rather start with him (if fit) and use Kenna off the bench if we need to close the game down.

i've rarely seen mckenna make defence splitting through balls , normally overhit with little chance of getting it , definitely not one of his strongpoints , he is ok at ball retention in the centre of the park though . moussi , mcgugan , cohen & especially majewski are all far better at splitting defences.

I very much agree, I've mentioned it on here a few time - so do you put up with his more than average poor passes or do you have him in there for his leadership.

It's an hard one to call - He always puts in a good shift and will give you 110% every game but he frustrates the hell out of me with the number of times he passes the ball straight to the opposition or into empty spaces.

If fit? I would play the Moose from the start and take it from there - if we need him (McKenna that is) then we use him - if not, save him for Wembley.

I would start with McKenna on the bench on tuesday if the moose is fit to play.and only use McKenna for the last 30 mins if we need too.

I would prefer to start with McKenna personally, its important that we have a good start and get that first goal, in which with McKenna starting makes me much more confident in us doing it.

At least if Moussi is fit then it's not a massive blow were McKenna to take off/come on.

Probably should have put Perch in the middle and put Chambers in at left back and Gunter at right back.

Wasn't McKenna a big reason why Adam did nothing all game? He did a good destructive job as far as I could see.

If Mckenna can do what he did when we played QPR at home then we'll be OK. he was fantastic that night- every time QPR threatened (and early on they did!) he seemed to break - up play and start and attack with one simple touch of the ball- The porblem sometimes is that some of our other players aren't aware enough and this can lead to him looking like he's played a bad pass

That is the problem, a few games before the playoffs great, using the playoffs to get match fit not great.

It was a big decision and the wrong one.

With the Moose unavailable it was a no brainer...he had to play.

Did he? on a pitch that was so poor against a team that like high tempo, he was either going to be bypassed or run out of steam. Maybe playing someone fitter would have been better, at least start with the fitter player.
We have to be able to go in with McKenna and Moussi missing at some point. It is odd the Moose is injured as soon as McKenna declares fit.
