McKenna Back for Monday?

Anyone else got a feeling Billy is keeping this one up his sleeve? We've had no updates other than the injury was "not as bad as expected".

Remember Derby at around this stage last season, Earnie and Anderson made a suprise return to the starting lineup dispite supposodly weeks away from match fitness?

Nah, I don't see it happening. He will make a surprise appearence on the bench for the Plymouth game.

I hope you're right.

Billy does have a habit of saying that people aren't fit then naming them in the starting line up.

Fingers crossed.

I see this match as our final chance for automatic, win this and we will turn the pressure up a notch on the top two and put us on good grounds for the final run in. Billy will have something up his sleeve to spurr us on I think, well, hope!

Didnt mckenna indicate in the programme a few games back that he was looking at making it back for the play offs?

I only skim read it though.

First Team Squad
Fit and rested for play offs is far better than half fit and hobbling on Monday.

Totally agree - same applies to the rest of the team as well

If the top two keep winning - the one luxury we have is being able to start resting and rotating players because we are guaranteed 3rd or 4th even if we were to coast from now til the end of season

We can't give up on top two yet but soon we will have to based on the form of top two and that may well be a blessing

Then we will see Garner, Mcgugan, Adebola, Mcleary, Boyd and co (maybe even Smith!) playing regularly and we will be mixing things up nicely to have everybody fresh for the playoffs

Not a bad position to be in

If Newcastle and West Brom continue to win games then it makes no difference who we play and how good we are. It would be daft to risk playing McKenna unless he's 100% recovered from his injury, which I very much doubt.

If we can recreate our home form with the same squad, a la Crystal Palace, and maintain that level or improve upon it, then we stand a good chance of getting something out of the game on Monday.

does mckennas presence make a differance to the team. apart from giving the ball away too many time our results are the same with or without him lose away and win at home and i really dont think we have missed him although i wouldnt replace him with moussi who does just the same.

Back in the day I remember fans saying just these things about formerforestcaptainJohnMcGovern; they were wrong as well!

McKenna has been pivoltal in everything we have acheived so far this year. Moussi has come on leaps and bounds since working along side McKenna.
McKenna has a footballers brain - There ain't many of those out there
