McGugan in Scotland Callup

Scotland manager Craig Levein is planning to call up Nottingham Forest youngster Lewis McGugan, who has a Scottish grandfather. (Various)

good bit of news for the lad, do you think he will accept it or perhaps hold out for an England chance later in his career? :)

Are McGoldrick, McCleary and McKenna in line too ?

He can't get a game for us at the moment in the CCC. If he's got any sense he'd jump at an international call-up from Scotland.

He could use it as an opportunity to give McCommons a hefty kick in the testicles in training, though.

Good luck to the lad, would be nice to see him playing at international level (even if it is for Scotland ) :)

Stuart Pearce
:D

The lad can't even get into the forest first team nor the england U-21 since Pearce wasn't interested but he's good enough to be a scottish international , good for Mcgugan. Him being a international can push his value up a bit further.

Stuart Pearce was interested, hence why he watched him a few times.

McGugan was just unlucky that he got injured around the time he could have got a call up and that England Under-21s have an abundance of attacking midfielders.

I think he'd be better off holding out to see if someone like Andorra can call him up, he'll have more chance of going to a major tournament that way.

Craig Levein manager, Darren Fletcher captain, a desperate cry to let Barry Ferguson back into the side... It's a sad state of affairs up there when you consider some of the players they once had.

Scottish football ruined because of the Scots Premier League, ours is heading in the same direction.

McGugan's finer moments suggest a level above Scotland. I'd hold out if I were him. He'll have a run sooner or later, particularly now Raddy's fragile frame is a target for every hoofer in the league, we saw it Friday against supposedly class opposition. The only defence people have against Raddy and Ando is to cripple them. I keep citing Wilson as an example of a player who occasionally shines that has established himself under Davies given a run. Don't count Lewis, Perch, Garner etc out until they've had a run - if McGugan steps up, Scotland will not even bother trying, they know their level.

I disagree but I see your point and don't want to go into it too much because it will open a massive can of worms I imagine! :D

There's something on TV I want to watch at six and if this starts I'll end up on here until 2am talking about Scotland players past and present, TV money, sponsorship, foreign players and investment and European prize money. :p

If this is true, then it might make Pearce offer McGugan some part in the U21 squad, just so he dont take up the Scottish call up, you never know?
