Mcgoldrick

Just wanted to hear what everybody thinks of him, I think he is capable of being a important player for us , but some games just doesnt seem like he cares.

To hit and miss for me at the moment he tends to mope around being lazy, like tonight,.. but others e.g scunthorpe he come on and looked very dangerous and a major threat after he came on.

I think he needs to work on his fitness and then soon he'll have a bit more confidence as he just didn't seem right to me tonight, could of easily had 3 if that was a fit Earnie out there it would of been 3-0 at half time.

Saying that he did hold the ball up well a few times tonight.

He looks better out of the box than in. Some of those missed chances were ridiculous.

to be honest i think its pretty much like most wingers they dont consistintly perfrom brilliant everygame. theyll have off games then theyll have brilliant games. and its what you come to expect from wingers

He has got the ability to become a great player, but sometimes I just don't think he is bothered.

I'd rather see Garner get a game

He was thinking too much about his chances instead of just shooting, because he hasn't been playing enough games to be confident in front of goal.

Give him the games and he will score!

100% agree with this. He looked great as an attacking midfielder tonight. He found space well, timed runs well, and latched onto through-balls well. He also held the ball up, and his passing was okay too.

But definitely struggled when he received the ball in the box. Even when it was too feet, he didn't seem to have the confidence to react with a useful shot. Which is a shame - if he had scored last night, we would all be singing his praises.

The jury is still out on McGoldrick as far as I'm concerned.....

He had enough chances to get on the score sheet and ease our nerves last night but he blew them all.

I recall Southampton fans saying how it takes him several attempts to get just one goal. I think this is a fair reflection of how things have gone for him so far this season.

I do hope the lad comes good as he is quick (when he can be arsed) and he does hold up the ball well.

I can see why Billy wanted so many different types of strikers mind. Dele may not be the most graceful of players but his presence and knock down for Moooooose was spot on.

I'm predicting McGoldrick and Dele up front on saturday. Typical away game partnership. Let's hope that McGoldrick can take some of these chances this time...........

McGoldrick scored a lot of his goals at Southampton from edge of or outside box but then BD does not see him as a 'fox in the box' which is how he described Garner. Seems that Raddy and McGoldrick are earmarked for the link role and he can play that well as he does hold up ball well. Would not be suprised to see McGugan get a start at Palace, BD has worked out that he plays well when he has a point to prove and after being on bench so long he will be up for it.

One thing BD does well is get into players heads....look at difference in Wilson and Chambers and McGugan.

I don't think he comes across as not up for it or lazy, i really like what he brings to the team, however he is def better as an attacking midfielder over an out and out striker.

I think he's good.

A bit selfish at times but I thought he combined with Blackstock well last night especially first half.

The movement and run that he did to create the one on one chance for himself was great, just a shame he didnt finish it. Think he just needs a goal or two and i think he could become a really good player for us.

Not much difference in all of them , Wilson was always capable of turning in good performances hence why everyone was predicting him to adapt to the championship better than Morgan. Chambers is still chambers , better at center back than right back and McGugan is still the same , hasn't proven anything to be different and he's not going to get a chance either with Raddy in his way.

I wasn't impressed with him last night. Thought we would have been better with Majewski being on from the start.

Raddy had been suffering with a virus, I think putting him on near the end was a sensible move.

I like McGoldrick - I think he needs a run in the side though, the poor finishing was the worst part of his game (chance of the bar, one-on-one with the keeper), both of which could easily be down to a lack of match sharpness.

He looks cultured, clever and hardworking.
