Good to know that David will be back in about a month's time. I for one think he's a good player, with a lot of ability and potential, and we should all back him when he comes back and gets involved, as we're gonna need all the players we can get. :)
 
He's certainly a very talented player but he only really showed it in glimpses last season. We only have two decent strikers at the moment so if he can come back and start to fulfil some of his potential this will strengthen us.

He can't be any worse than Adebola.
 
He could be the one to step up and score more goals. I might be alone here but the more he's been away from the team the more I'm looking forward to seeing him come back and think he could come back better then ever. (fingers crossed)
 
I like him, once we find a stable role for him I'm sure he'll come good - he needs more gametime in a settled side/formation ideally - I always get the impression with him he's not quite on the same wavelength as his teammates...
 
I think McGoldrick's best position will prove to be behind a main striker (Blackstock?) in a 4-3-2-1 or 4-4-1-1 formation. He's obviously not a target man but I reckon he could flourish there.

He seemed to play in most games I went to last season and I was impressed with his work-ethic despite most people not seeming to be. He's pretty strong as well which is always important!
 
It will or if he's only on the bench, at least it's someone half decent to bring on and try change things.
 
I'd not expect miracles from him and he'll need a good few games before hitting his stride but we'e a much more diverse side with him available.
 
HE has the potential to be a good player, but then so does Garner, Tyson and all the other fringe players. It will all come down to their atttitude when they do get their chances.
 
I think my most favoured position for McGoldrick to play in, would be to play in a different team, maybe Chester City or suchlike, I keep hearing people go on about he will come good, and score plenty, but i fail to see that, i dont think he is very good at all, and a complete waste of £1m, i hope he proves me wrong, but i doubt he will be playing for Forest once his contract runs out, thats if he hasnt gone before that.
 
With all the rubbish that's being bandied about at the moment, it'd be great to see him start showing his potential, in fact all the Mac's have it, how satisfying would be for McGoldrick, McGugan and McCleary to hit form. (I was quite surprised to hear a while ago (On Forest Player) a load of the players comment on how skillful McCleary is). Maybe this is their season??

wrong. Tyson lacks any footballing ability really or potential. His only asset is pace. He's 28 now and he ain't going to suddenly find a load of ability from somewhere or get any better. That's why he should be moved on, but at the moment the squad's so light in numbers, we can't really afford to move anybody else out yet.
 
I've enthused about McGoldrick from the beginning - he has skill and some pace. Johnathan suggests his best position for him but to be fair, that WAS where he played so effectively at the start of last season. I've always got time for McCleary - real pace and skill but crap at shooting! You know, if we don't let BD destroy morale with his 'infighting' methods, we have a huge amount of talent and potential at the club. Billy's job is to get the best out of them.
As for you Ray Von, have you seen McGoldrick play? Do you watch what he can do? Are you a boo boy?!!!!!!
Blackstock up front with earnie and McGoldrick just behind him?

We need all the players we can get, who know he might give us something different - he certainly cannot do much worse than most of our forward players.

we're trying to find something to excite us and if it's Goldie coming back from injury sometime soon then so be it.
