Just back off Hols and thought i'd post this up, unsure if its already been mentioned, so please delete if need be.

Had a text saying that McCleary is going to Leeds on loan, unsure how long for.

This would be a stupid thing for forest to do, if its true. Although if he can be recalled that wouldn't be too bad.

Next season will be HIS big season for us.

Not at Leeds.

He's only just signed a new contract so I can't see this happening. He was out today due to injury, although the stirrers of this world would have you believe otherwise!

A contract signing is a vote of confidence in the player. Sending him out on loan is saying that he doesn't feature in our immediate plans.

Why would a contract signing stop him going on loan?

It doesn't, Anderson signed a new contract with Liverpool around the time he first came on loan to us.

But does in our medium-longer term ones. Loaning someone doesn't mean you want rid.

Are we after anyone from Leeds?

Just wondering if McCleary has been used as part of a deal. Similar to the Lynch/Thornhill deal with Brighton

Wouldn't imagine there was anyone we wanted from Dirty Leeds, the majority of the squad is gash or unproven apart from amybe Beckford and given that he's a mug I don't think we'd go there.

Or that he needs to start games and get some experience perhaps, like Thornhill, Reid etc? He is unlikely to start for us and will be a bench player at best for a while. IF he was sent out on loan by BD it would be because he wanted to improve his experience etc not get rid. Why is there this automatic knee jerk negative crap all the time. ::)

It wouldn't, but it looks to me as though Billy has given him a show of confidence by offering him a new deal, and the chance to cement his place in the first team. If you look at the other new contracts signed, Cohen, Morgan and Tyson, they are all first team regulars who Billy clearly sees in his plans for the coming seasons, and for me McCleary also fits this bill. At the age of 23, he can no longer be classed as a 'kid' and needs to start performing consistantly on a weekly basis. Given his performances at the end of last season, I see no reason why we would want to lose his services for 6 months or whatever the deal would be, especially given our shortage of wingers at this present time.

I doubt this is true or that he will go on loan but in terms of league experience he is a 'kid' being very new to it all.

I imagine it's a lazy rumour precipitated by his being injured and not involved in the friendly yesterday.

We are short on wingers at the moment so would be suprised to see him go anywhere although we did tinker with a diamond formation yesterday which I think could work with a natural CM for Tyson hopefully Cohen.

We are a one man team and it is just unfortunate that no one knows who that man is.

Yeah definatly agree this will be his biggest season with us.

He was better than Mcsheffery when they both played the same role in the same game.
(Obviously Mcsheffery is generally a more proven better player, but I just mean in that short time he was with us)

Gaz came on and changed the course of a couple of games if you ask me.
Impact player springs to mind.
