As predicted on here

Chalk it up on the scoreboard and add it next to the "Yates isn't shit" and "Hughton needs to go ASAP" points.

Must be in with a shout of being Villa's player of the season so far. Excellent in his first season in the Prem and he has gone up a level.

2nd for opposition penalty area touches amongst DEFs

-Joint 5th goal attempts (defenders)

-Joint 2nd shots inside the box over the last 6 (defenders)

After a quick scroll through Villa’s forum, it’s interesting to see that a fair few of them aren’t too pleased with Cash - saying he’s been rash, poor positionally and poor with his crossing/passing. Apparently the ‘first position they should look to improve on’ if they want to push on. Baffles me a bit, whenever I’ve watched Villa he’s usually been one of their standout players…

Agree. There was some online debate started by Collymore recently asking who the top five players that need replacing were if villa wanted to push on and become a top 8 team. Cash featured in nearly every persons top 5.

We'll have him back if they don't want him.

Kid's still 24 and was getting praised to bits a month ago after 18 months worth of good form.

Absolute goldfishes. Hope he buggers off elsewhere.

Villa fans have always been cockwombles. They think they are up there with Real Madrid, despite the fact they have been on a downward trajectory (like us) for 20 years+. Cash is a gem of a player and if you can't work with that sort of raw material then you are a shit coaching set up. I suspect this is probably the case with self styled "legend" that is Stevie G. Idiots.

I saw that and was shocked to as well, as whenever I had seen Villa he looked one of their better players.

We'll have him back if they don't want him.

I also said the exact same thing .

Athletic Madrid "allegedly" in talk with Villa about a £30-40m move.

We also may have a sell on fee around 20% which would be awesome if we did.

Well having sold Trippier they might be in the market for a Right Back!

Cashy is a player I think Diego Simeone would like; hard working and dependable.

Could be massive for us, a nice £6m - £7m unexpected windfall, if there is a sell on included.

Crazy how the Villa fans think he’s gash but Simeone apparently wants him, I’m sure the brummies know best though.

Poor Matty won’t have a clue what’s going on over in Spain, he’s only just mastered the English language, bless him.

If we have a 20% sell on clause for Cash, and Brereton, then that's FFP sorted for the year. No wonder we've closed the door on Brentford for Johnson.

He’s also trying to learn Polish too

I wonder, in time if England may wish they tied him down.
He’s still young and whilst there are obviously players like Trent what’s his name in there, to my mind he’s a defensive catastrophe and if you were looking for a bit more defensive stability and energy Cash might be a better option in time?

Trent Alexander-Arnold
Reece James
Kyle Walker
Kieran Trippier
Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Tariq Lamptey
Max Aarons
Tino Livramento
Kyle Walker-Peters
+whatever young player will burst onto the scene next season

I’d say we’re reasonably well stocked there….

If he was a left-back, he’d probably already be capped by England by now, especially with Chilwell and Shaw’s various injury issues over last season and a half, but at RB, it was absolutely the right decision for Cashy to play for Poland and potentially win 50+ caps and play at major tournaments

Is it so?
The next set of accounts for FFP inclusion are 31st May 2022.
If we have a FFP compliance issue then I think the 20% sell-on fees for Cash and Brereton are unlikely to be included as the Cash story is about the deal being done in the summer, and as far as I am aware there is no deal at the moment with regard to Brereton.
The renewed speculation about Worrall going to West Ham for £10m before Monday's deadline would provide the cushion for FFP assuming it goes ahead.
Mind you, does anyone have any idea as to how we are faring in terms of FFP compliance?
I have no idea whether we are inside or outside the 3-year rolling total (which IIRC is for an FFP loss of no more than £39m for any 3-year period).

Agree 100%; he wouldn’t get a kick for England as he doesn’t play (currently) for a fashionable club, and as you say, England are handsomely endowed with Right Backs for the next few years.

And besides, he gets to bang crosses in for Robert Lewandowski, what’s not to like there?

But being objective for a minute, my point is that he’s a damn good player and “unfashionable clubs” aside I don’t see any on that list that’s on a completely different level to him…
Alexander Arnold is totally different, granted but that’s because he’s a very good winger and deadball specialist not a defender. Trippier and Walker in a couple of years will be too old…

I think Matty is in with a shout of being the peer of the rest that’s all

Someone better informed may correct me but I understand that it is a percentage of the profit over the selling price that’s covered. So, if Cash is sold for 30 mill. we would be entitled to 20% of 15 million, not 30.

Makes sense. We had the same deal when we sold Jenas I think. We only got a percentage of anything over £5m when Newcastle sold him to Spurs.
