In fairness, if any babies he was holding ended up in the bonfire, it was probably because he dropped them, rather than it being intentional. The chance of one of his throws actually being accurate for the first time in his life is tiny.
I'd assume probably 2, but very different profiles.
One that can act as serious competition / potential eventual replacement for Sels (ie what we wanted Miguel to be)
One winding down his career and is happy to almost be an extra coach who can step in if we hit an emergency (ie what Hennessey was)

In fairness to the transfer team, I think Goalkeepers are the hardest position to scout - particularly reserve goalkeepers. I say this because, pretty much every goalkeeper who has ever been a pro can look good in training and uncompetitive fixtures - but, more so than outfield positions - mistakes are amplified and viewed as a disaster - the mental toughness and confidence needed to play the position is only really tested and/or highlighted in game situations.

We're selling him to Lyon, as per the agreement previously reached with Textor that Lyon seemingly don't want to but have to honour.
Lyon (who don't want him either) are then immediately loaning him out to New England Revolution for an as yet unreported amount of time.
