Matt Thornhill & Brendan Moloney

Just to try to distract from the transfer rumours as I can't refresh the same pages much more!

Does anyone think they can be a part of our season this year? They haven't been loand out yet and have played a little pre-season... who knows.

I have no problem at all with Moloney being played and to be honest wouldn't mind him having a few outings at RB (if needed) - I rate him and think a season with us now would do him good!

I like Thornhill too but feel his chances of getting in the team and tougher due to his position (especially if we get our rumoured signings) but could play cup games and think he could improve...

Moloney is only likely to be third choice behind Gunter and Chambers for right-back whilst Thornhill will 6th in the pecking order for a cental midfield spot. Both of them could do with being loaned out.

I rate both of them and they looked like had moved formward from last year when i saw them in the Pre-season match against Peterborough.

the problem is, they both need first-team football to keep improving now, or those years when players develop most will be behind them. Tey both need to make an impact here, or somewhere else next year, or I suspect they'll be moved on permanently.

If Wilson/Morgan are inured, as we've seen happen in preseason already, Chambo will be one of those filling in centrally, so Moloney'd be second choice behind Gunther.

As for thornhill, he'll not start the games Raddy or Cohen or Moussi might, but if I were McGugan I'd be ****ting it seeing Thornhill sticking around.

If they have recall clauses then they can still act as cover when being loaned out. As it stands I don't think either of them will make the match day 18.

Pair of youngsters who are obviously still fancied, or else they would have been released, although I have not seen that much of them, they certainly did look good, hoping they come through, alongside McGugan........another talented youngster who seemed to be in a rut last season.

Get them out of that comfort zone, get them to start fighting for their chance

Thornhill's best bet at getting in the team is the 'second striker' role which he did to good effect against Peterborough. With mcGoldrick out, he's primary back up to Majewski if we choose a system that uses that role.

I would have though McGugan would have been better in that role then Thornhill. Plus McGoldrick when he comes back to fitness is more of 'second striker' than an out and out centre forward.

I like Thornhill, he's a goalscoring midfielder, which we don't have at the minute, and he's scored goals off the bench too. If we don't get Pratley or Whittingham, we should keep him as cover.

Moloney's not had much game time at all in our first team but similar to Thornhill, looks to have the ability to make it. They both need experience at this level really, and I'd like that to be in our squad. We're going to get injuries, so to have these two on hand would be very good.

Can anyone actually provide me a most updated squad list? All these talks about signing is making my head spinning like a wheel. @@

That's exceptionally important. We don't need a me-first talent to ruin the solidarity.

I think Moloney is our 2nd choice RB really. Chambers more a CB cover! I would like to see him play a few games see how he gets on!

Thornill never showed his true worth in League One because all too often he was featured in a 4-4-2. He's too lightweight to be one half of a central midfield pairing. With Moussi and McKenna behind him he'd be excellent - give him a free role like others have said.

Moloney is a top quality player too. I actually don't think he's that far behind Gunter in terms of ability. Great technically, improve on his physical side and he'd be in and around the starting eleven for me. Could probably do a job on right side of midfield if necessary too.
