Matchtalk

earthworm

Was it on last night? Plenty for them to yak about already really.

Can't find it on Radio Notts iPlayer though.

Apparently it was on, Fray said something along the lines of he reckons both Pratley and Whittingham are coming, and other than that I assume it was it's normal Notts County love-in?

Most of the show was taken up by some tool that had a go at Ray Trew after the Notts match and wanted to apologize to everybody.

Matchtalk is alright i think but wish they would push the boundaries abit and get live studio appearances to answer questions from callers, in Forest's case either ND, MA, BD, DP OR TTK to liven it up abit.

They have done that sort of thing once or twice in the past. You're right though, not enough. That said, I suppose its more about the fans having their say than pundits and officials. There's sometimes some interesting insight, and its usually interesting to see just how differently two fans can see a game.

I don't mind Slater too much on matchtalk - there's only so much to say/add abut Forest before you are just repeating web and matchday points, and I wish Forest had a walking encyclopedia like Slater in our coverage team, not that I'd replace Colin, John or Robin. If Matchtalk is good enough for us rubbish part time fans from not Nottingham to tune into, it must be ok.

Whenever I listen to matchtalk, it always seems to be an old woman saying how 'Well' Notts have played (even if they've lost); and some man in Mansfield moaning about Billy Davies...

Why they dont have a seperate match talks for Forest and County?? Fed up at listening to the sadpies, and bet they are fed up of hearing about us!

It's a great idea let down generally by the calibre of contributor sadly. Feel sorry for the panel who have to field such inane babble from Forest, County and Mansfield fans alike.

It's the same as every 'contributor based show', well reasoned opinions aren't interesting to listeners/viewers, who would rather hear one extreme, then the other. It's like the Football League Show:

"James from Bradford says that although Leeds lost, they will come back to win the league; whilst Enrico from Leeds says that on that performance, Leeds will finish with no points and be relegated back to the cess pool that is League 1. Riveting stuff guys. Now I have a text from Michelle, and it's a question for Steve..."

I don't think that the guys on Matchtalk are as cynical as the Football League show, the people that get on generally are all they have a choice from lol

The football league show is same format as last seasons drivel i take it?

Very rarley do i listen to matchtalk like has been said, too much about c*nty, hearing about their financial problems week after week drove me up the wall and i did start shouting at the radio a bit.

I like to listen when something big happens at forest, but not every week.

I don't mind hearing the odd bit of Notts news and views on there, its all local football. But yeah, all that Munto stuff got really annoying.

I haven't listened to it since a County fan called in to have a 5 minute conversation with Slater about the positioning of the lottery ticket sellers outside Meadow Lane. Brilliant radio.

lol I remember that! I found it all rather amusing (although, of course, it wasn't meant to be), especially as Colin 'Sleeehhter' was banging on about how he'd make sure it was remedied. I swear he thinks he's some sort of honorary director!

Richard from Nottingham has called in to say he thinks Al provides a useful contribution to the forum and shouldn't be insulted to the extent he is; whilst Martin from some waste land in the South says that Al is a useless jam rag who'd be better off doing himself a favour and jumping off the nearest bridge. Interesting comments guys, now a question for Steve..."
