MatchTalk tonight

I think as there is little over a week before the transfer window shuts, we need to voice our opinion with regards to what we expect as fans from the club.

Lets not just accept this situation and moan about it afterwards, lets make the club FULLY aware of our views that we simply won't let the club fall into mediocrity again.

It's our club so let our voices be heard

(I fully expect this to fall on deaf ears and MatchTalk to be full of mentally retarded Notts fans again.)

Other than that you're probably right!

Isn't that always the way? The City Ground could vanish into thin air and you'd still get some senile old bugger talking utter bollocks about Notts. Enough about Colin Slater though...

But if we werent here then Nigel would have no reason to own it.

I agree with you Hockley but unfortunately you will get the same old idiots ringing in who just moan and dont give a constructive argument as to why we wont settle for it.

It will just be the "Ive supported Forest for a million years and I'm sick of it"

I guess a few dissenters will call up and be critical. However, they'll come across as thick and fail to get any pertinent point across, they'll then get fobbed off and a County fan will ring up about a light bulb not working in the Pavis Stand disabled toilet...

Plus if anyone manages to get through and make some valid points, they will probably get cut off do to "a bad line".

Some guy got Frays back-up last week when discussing the price of Pratley and Whittingham. It's clear they knows much much more than they are letting on

I understand the need for Radio Notts to keep Forest onside but far too often they are used as Forest's PR machine rather than be the neutral media outlet they should be.

Genius stuff lads, pissing myself reading this thread :D

The Notts fans do seem to waffle on about the most unimportant stuff, but SLater always manages to find it of critical importance. Maybe now they're doing **** again they can get back to good old fashioned moaning with the rest of us Nottingham****es.

Fully agree with you, Elmo.

Zigga, I've been thinking a lot recently over this 'who owns the club' business.

Yes, Nigel Doughty does technically own the club, he pays the bills and he calls the shots. But it's our club.

I'd liken the situation to living with your parents, or indeed having your kids live with you. As the parent, you own the house. You pay the mortgage, you pay the bills etc, but it's still your kids home. If the ig bad wolf huffed and puffed and blew it down, your kids would still feel it, and still become homeless.

So, I'd probably phrase things slightly differently for clarity. I'd say that Nigel Doughty doesn't own the club, Nigel Doughty owns our club.

If I may re-post a post from about 4 years ago...

"It says "NFFC" on my flag, not "NDFC". It said NFFC before ND became involved, and it will say NFFC long after he's gone."

Hang on, are you telling us to phone in or not to bother because I will be cut off?

I'm getting mixed signals here.

RAIL MADRID!

To be fair, can you imagine any Forest players defending the club in such a way? Savage showed two things when he had that outburst. One, that he's not the brightest spark, and two that he cares about the club. He's a fan favourite, and Derby seem qute united now.

Couldn't agree more, both Fray and Chipperfield seem very reluctant to do ask anything that would upset the club. At times a neutral would believe you were listening to Radio Forest given the pr spin that comes out of Fray and Chipperfields mouth especially at phone in time. I mean so called expert chippers last week didn't even realise ND was charging us interest on the money he has loaned us.

If we don't end up signing anybody then Radio Nottingham really need to get preferably Doughty and Arthur on the phone in to answer questions but knowing Fray and Chipperfield they probably would veto anything that could potentially upset them. Im not one of the vital doom merchants but questions do need to be asked and if those 2 were on I would certainly ring up

Would LOVE to see a Marthur/NDoughty "Audience With..." at The Approach one of these days...

What do you reckon...any chance?!

Hello it's Fran from Mansfield.... Come on you Forest men!

Anyone else sick of that ****ing Fran

Colin Slater will continue to defend Munto finance as genuine fellows, and reiterate that some of the media stories and downright rumours about them are nothing short of disgraceful.

Radio Nottingham have a tricky position - they have a contractual agreement with Forest in order to provide the coverage they do, I imagine a reasonable chunk of that contract is probably devoted to guiding them on what they should and shouldn't discuss openly either during matchday coverage or during phone-ins.

Much like Billy has a contract which he didn't want to break despite the howls of derision from some of the people at the last 'Evening With..', it's unlikely that Radio Nottingham will do so either as it will jeopardise their ability to provide commentary or other coverage of Forest if they erode their relationship with the powers-that-be.

It's quite straight-forward really. I don't understand why people struggle to grasp it. It was different back in the days of Century - but you can chart the time it changed when Lloyd lost his role during the Platt era (around the time that Mr Doughty would be getting control of the club).

That said, the Century phone-in from my memory was simply Fletcher spouting his opinion over the top of whoever called in, so perhaps a little too far the other way.

as much as fletch and britles cuased trouble at times for the club there nightly program did alow fans to voice concerns and they really did dig for info.

on the subject of whos club it is, would club survive without doughty? probably would the club survive without its fans? no
