He says we have put in four written offers and he also said its unlikely they will be accepted.

Shall I translate - We've taken this piss 4 times and this is the excuse I have decided to roll out again. lol lol

I wonder why that problem didn't stop Porter going to Derby?

We need to stop messing about and make some serious offers. If players are not sure about our league postition convince them we are ambitious and on form.

it's becoming a f***ing joke now , i'm convinced we put offers in to appease fans and make it look like we are actively trying to add to the squad when in reality they KNOW that the offer will be turned down anyway and we'll limp towards seasons end and try and make do with our pathetically small squad , we'll probably get a couple of inadequate loan signings in on a par with lynch !

If this is the case and Arthur said this it's very dissapointing. We have a thin squad and tough games coming up and need new additions.

I hope to see some new faces in before the window shuts.

thursday & friday all i bloody did when i got in from work was check for new signings , i'm not holding my breath now , different manager but same heirarchy so same ol' january!

Bloody excellent PR skills there, Marthur. What kind of a prat says that on the radio?!

I do, however, still think we'll get a couple of players in. Billy has made it abundantly clear what he wants so let's hope something decent does come our way.

Hopefully the situation is that selling clubs are holding out for as much as possible and he is letting them know we won't be held to ransom.

i hope you're right clifford as we are in dire need of depth and personally i'm not keen on loans , camp an exception.

What a ridiculous thing to say. Four derisory offers are on the table but they will all tell us to f*** off basically.

Just listined to the interview, its on the BBC site. It gave me the impression that we wont be getting anybody in as bids will be rejected or the players want to go elsewhere.

He went on to mention the loan market not closing till mid march so cant imagine anythink more than a few mediocre loan players now.

Pretty dissapointed really.

He didn't happen to mention that the sum value of those offers was £125.87, 3 pigs, one goat, half a dozen eggs and a free blowjob around the back of the mainstand did he?

Because that's probably what they total as.

Ok, so I made the blowjob bit up.

last season we were told that we couldn't attract players because we were in league one and now we're being told we can't attact players because we aren't at the top of the championship  who are they trying to sign? ebanks-blake? kevin phillips? kevin doyle?

exactly what i thought , just an excuse as far as i'm concerned.

Shouldn't be worrying, we will get players in!
I guess it's hard to attract decent championship players becoz' of our position.

Sounds to me that he has put bids in and they have refused them and he's said this out of frustration.

does anyone know if we actually tabled a bid for porter? it strikes me that when someone else is in for the same player as us they more often than not blow us out !

We do rather have a track record for making bids that have been said to be 'insulting' by the receiving club.....

True, when does a club ever sell a player according to his valuation unless there's no choice or on the transfer market. We can't be offering enough, or we won't offer enough.

For f*** sake. How many of you have any actual evidence of who what when where we have put a bid in for players? I thought so, none.

We've just got a new manager who has taken time considering the clubs needs & we have put in a few bids (MA words) so what the f*** makes you think they are derisory? why is it that whenever MA open his mouth he's accused of lying? yet when he doesn't engage in keeping the fans up to date he's slagged off as well for never letting the fans know what's happening.

I suggest quite a few of you wake up & smell the coffee, of course our position affects who we can sign. Players want to be in a team a league above their present status or at least pushing for promotion so that they can maximise their pay packets. We are scrapping against relegation (shock horror, you missed that as well!!) with a possibility that we may get relegated. Maybe when we are established back in this league things may be different but until then accept the fact that players want more no matter how famous we once were

I f***ing despair on here at times, either support the club or not.
