Why?
He turned us down.
No one will cheer when his hat-trick for the Geordies relegates us to the Blue Square Premier League.

must be a hard decision for a striker. a club with 6 strikers fighting for his position.
a club which needed a striker with potential of playing every game.

i will be giving him a good welcome back. he will always be welcome back at forest.

I might give him a clap after the game as I have done previously when he returned but I try to not care he's an ex-player until the game is over. The smart money would be on him netting against us though.

I felt the same as you but have since learn't that he didn't turn us down it was just a case of Wolves offering Villa a higher percentage towards his wages. He did however see it as an chance for a future in the Premier League which he wouldn't have got with Forest straight away

I shouldn't think Marlon will celebrate if he scores really, so I would give him a good reception if I was there.

Does anyone remember when he came back with West Ham in the first home game after Cloughie died?

He scored their goal that day and didn't celebrate.

It made me love him a little bit more!

Yeah,, that was quite respectable of him. There's not many former players who would do that. I'll certainly clap him in his return.

We didn't have 6 strikers when we tried to loan him last season - we had earnie, garner and tyson. As it turned out we got Blackstock who I think did more for us than Marlon would have done. He was a decent player for us and I have respect for the way he's acted since leaving us (esp the aforementioned West Ham game) so I'll be giving him a good reception.

People always mention this one, but he also scored against us about 48hrs after he'd signed for West Ham and didn't celebrate then either.

The man is a legend. Guaranteed to score on Saturday though.

He's not a legend. He was shite for most of his career then had a hot 18 months. He was a good player by then, probably our most important, but that doesn't mean I'm going to applaud him or cheer for him when he's an opposition player coming to The City Ground, especially one who declined the opportunity to play for the club towards the end of last season. I'd rate Colin Calderwood as a more important figure in the football club's history, and what's more a more likeable one - he too will receive nothing from me as an employee of the opposition.

Evans went mental went he scored.

It really meant something to him.

Im a little surprised by the king comments. Didnt he kiss the badge after scoring in that game? I was hoping he would knuckle down and stay after that, think his situation wasnt helped by smegson who alienated everyone. If you were King would you want to stay at a place where your own fans boo you and the manager is a ****?

Before the backlash, I'm just saying that we missed a trick with him considering he went to Watford and fired them to promotion.

I never liked his attitude.

He may have kissed the badge but look at his initial cocky reaction before that.
