For those concerned about PSR, if it was going to have a negative impact we would have waited 10 days which indicates to me it's going to have a net positive on our books.
But is anyone else sick in general of every signing we make or could make has question marks over it based on what sort of accounting method we will do. I'm not talking about Forest i'm talking about in general, the whole Villa x Everton x Chelsea shady deals are making me want to vomit and the whole you cant sell X player because he wont make a profit but X player can.
What have the absolute morons running our game done, this is so unacceptable and just not in the spirit of football in any way at all.

Christ above just think about the deal for a second and realize this will mean f*** all for PSR.
Hope he starts for oly as I think he’d be a good squad member for us next season (regardless of division). Young with potential, I like this move since there’s not much midfield space in our squad and he’ll be playing decent European level competition.

My limited understanding is that the amount that goes on the current year's accounts is fee divided by length of contract, so in this case 4m/5 = 800k. Could be wrong though.

The contracts tend to run from 1st July to 30th June though right? I.e. yes he’s signed but it’s effectively next season

It's a good point. My understanding is that it is simply amortised over the length of the contract but maybe there is something to break that down further.
This is a fantastic bit of business and I can't wait to see him lining up for Olympiacos in the coming months.

This one will go through on 1st July alongside many other similar PL deals. We know very little of the player, but it's a low risk move with decent potential upsides. You'd expect Olympiacos will cover that first season's amortisation and his wages and we'll see how he gets on.
Best case scenario, he does well and we can integrate him in to our squad and have got a bargain. Worst case scenario, he's not PL quality and we can sell him on for whatever book value remains minimal harm done.

Yeah, I'm all for deals like this, and it's one of those where having sister club(s) can really help.
Also like that we will have good info about him (through Wood) and he's a big lad - good low risk long term punt. Fingers crossed he works his way into that Oly side early.

The rules people impose these days sometimes defeat me. It's almost as if they must be seen doing something, anything. And as a result they modify the offside rule so that the ref can give anything because nobody understands the bloody thing.
As Shankley said, if you're not interfering with play, you shouldn't be on the field. Or something like that.

If the first reports from pre-season are to be believed, Marko Stamenić is mint, with real quality on the ball, and a beast of an athlete. I may have a first glimpse on Friday, when we're playing our first friendly (probably an embarassing one, because pre-season just began, we're way behind on transfers, and we're playing against Ajax).
