Mark Clattenburg

Premier League referee?

He was a joke today, Fouls not going our way but going theirs.

1, 2 maybe three clear handballs. (From where i was sitting in the Trent end)

He was god awful today.

Appalling. A Premier League Ref?

He didn't look anything like it!

He did seem to have a basic lack of understanding of when and how to play and advantage..

In fact he seemed to have a basic lack of understanding full stop....

he was alright. a few bizarre decisions but nothing too bad. his worst decision was not letting play carry on when tyson broke through. he could have easily booked majewski for some silly late challenges.

he seemed to get a grip of coventrys dirty tactics at set pieces.

it was a tough physical game. i think he did well considering the circumstances. and it's a bit rich at the moment, as forest fans, for us to moan about referees missing handballs

Could the man have been anymore arrogant? The way he stood there the whole match strolling around the pitch. Or with his hand on his hip and arse sticking out. He's just another Ref who thinks its all about them.

Twunt.

He's the worst referee we've had at home this season for me.

Spaking of refereeing decisions did anyone watch the Newcastle Derby game? When Savage got cleaned out by his own player (ha!) was I the only one who saw him look round at a player and throw an elbow just before being brought down himself?

He won't get punished because he didn't make contact but looked very dirty to me but just what I'd expect from a low life scummer such as him.

do i remember rightly, but wasn't michael dawson sent off controversially in that match?

That was Clattenburg?! Says it all really. That was wrong and he was utterly shite today too.

I counted 4 advantages he got completely wrong. You can't stop an attack for a foul and not book the player. The only advantage I remember he played was when we had the ball in our own half, under pressure... genius!

Of course, there were a few iffy ones that went in our favour too, he was just generally shocking throughout.

There were a couple of fouls on the edge of the Cov box, where their centre backs completely swiped Blackstock's and Earnie's legs from behind and he didn't give fouls. Then there was that one where the Cov defender just steamed into Earnie and knocked him flying, sat on top of him and somehow that was a Coventry free kick

But the most bizzare thing was when from a corner looped up in the air, a Cov defender was shadowing Wes and blocking him off nowhere near the ball and the ref gave them a foul, despite Wes not actually committing any kind of foul.

And the length of Coventry's free kicks in the first half was just laughable. They must have been standing there for nearly 30 seconds on one of them! :D

Yup I saw it. Typical Savage, looking around, trying to elbow/block the guy off, then takes a dive. He does it all the time. It's just a shame he always gets away with it. Hopefully one day he will get what he deserves.

It was sickening when the sky sports commentator said "now is he getting booked because he's Robbie Savage?". No, he got booked because he slid in and took out a guy who had a clear run down the line, you f***ing twat.

Good save by Bywater at the end though, takes 2 points off Newcastle!

I do find a lot of these premier league refs who drop down a league for a game or 2 are simply not good.

I'm not one for slating refs, but I'm just glad that he didn't have any big decisions to make because he would have got them wrong.

Nothing personal but he was crap today.

Bit of a donkey! Most forgiveable but his advantage giving or lack of in the wrong places was abysmal.

Agreed. He just got the basics wrong. He was a bad advert for premier league referees.

He must have been the worst ref we've had all season!

His wearing of a long sleeved shirt made him look quite odd.

As did some of his baffling decisions.

Oh and he needs to be taught the advantage rule ...

he was no worse than the ref at watford, but he was shocking so says it all. looked like he had spent more time on sunbeds and gelling his hair than he has studying rules of the game

You have a point here. Mr D'urso for some reason didn't give two pretty clear penalties in the Watford game for the Shorey handball and the foul on Gunter. Weird.

Jarnail Singh is THE best referee in the football league but for some reason, he's stuck in Leagues One and Two while twats like Clattenburg, D'Urso and Stuart Attwell get to referee in the Premiership.

But in L1 and L2 the pressure is off, on the big stage all referees are bound to make rash decisioins under pressure.

Clattenburg was awful today no doubt. So inconsistent and came across as an arrogant twat whenever a player appealed against a decision.

It's not much to ask for a ref to know the difference between left and right. ::)

We've seen worse but not a good example of a so called premiership official. I doubt we'd be complaining had his decisions been mainly in our favour though.

ay now, I won't have anyone critising Stuart "I'm a forest fan" atwell
as I'm pretty sure he denied derby bragging rights last year in the first derby game at the city ground!
