£2m on a 29 year old who has only played two years outside of the Polish leagues and is now with Anderlecht where he is probably on a decent wage and has a chance of winning a medal or two?

Doesnt matter who or what price, if his job description contains defender he must be signed or fans will riot, the club will implode, tsunami in the trent etc

Forget it then! Lets pack up and go home or maybe we could just see if Chesterfield, Lincoln or Torquay have got anyone? ::)

Or we could look for a more realistic target?

If you want to take a stance like that now will you consider this transfer window a failure if we don't sign him?

I was merely suggesting I don't think he is the right man for Forest and we are more likely to have better options being lined up or scouted for at the moment.

Maybe? and I hope I'm wrong but doing things 'on the cheap' wont help us! 'Get what you pay for' etc etc. I'm not one to panic and have already stated we must remain calm and have faith!! :nowink: but it's not nice when those c**ts sign one of our targets! Just hope we have Mills or alike in the bag?

To be fair though this lad looks quality and is in reaching distance?

The 28-year-old has been a key player for Anderlecht over the course of the season and has chipped in with eight goals.

Anderlecht boss Herman Van Holsbeeck was full of praise for the Pole and rates him among the best full-backs in Europe.

Van Holsbeeck said: "Wasyl would give his life for his club. Find me a full-back in Europe who would score eight times in a season." ASNWER: PSYCHO!

Get what you pay for isn't exactly true in a football sense though. I imagine that Camp is more than a £100k keeper and Anderson is more than a £250k winger. I think £2m for a player like this is a bit much that's all. We missed out on Barker but as other have said also I don't think he would have changed out team too much as he's about the standard we already have and I posted elsewhere than unfortunately at the moment I think defenders are coming at a bit of a premium due to a shortage at this level.

I think we'll have more than two lined up and wouldn't be suprised if Mills and Barker were lined up as a one to start and a one to cover so neither is the others plan B.

I don't think he would be in reaching distance either, as your quote shows he's highly rated by the manager of a team playing in Europe so I'd be suprised if he wanted to come here although you can never say never.

I'd rather not buy a player from Anderlecht if we could at all afford it.

Never even thought of this but yeah, totally agree.

How is one of the best full backs in europe in reaching distance for the 19th best club in England's second division?
