The Stags lost their unbeaten pre-season friendly record, when they went down 2-1 at home to near neighbours NOTTS Forest.

Ryan Willaims had given the Stags hope late in the game, with a well taken penalty, but two first half goals from the men from the worst city in the world, meant they took the honours.

i just ignore the notts forest comments whenever i hear them, if they see that it annoys you they keep doing it.

to me it really doesn't bother me in the slightest what our neighbours know us as.

Very strange article; being a native of Ravenshead I know lots of Mansfield folk and MTFC supporters. I have never detected any of that sort of venom towards Nottingham at all.
Mansfield vital gets less visitors than a site on do it yourself castration so I suspect this is just an attempt by the editor to whip up some cotroversy and visitors.

Nah. Time for a serious reply. It's named after the River Maun which it is built on. It used to be Maunsfield, but somewhere along the line the 'U' was dropped and it became Mansfield.

Mansfield Vital? Some knobhead Internet loser with a hatred of Forest - obviously a voice that must be heard.

Most Mansfield Town fans I know don't hate Forest in the slightest, a common ground of a general dislike of Notts County.

I still like Mansfield some what but after the other night and coming across some of their followers i will feel a little uneasy at cheering their half time results at the City Ground now but just have to try remember that the new generation of younger fans are bellends.
