Majewski Speaks

Certainly seems very pleased to be here. If he is as keen to stay as he sounds I'd expect he will be pushing hard for a permanent move. It sounds like the Polish fans really push a player who has gone into the limelight. Much like our premiership but with the distancing and relative privacy a bonus for the players here. Hope he does well, as many say he could be the bargain of the summer !

RADOSLAW Majewski hopes to focus on proving his ability at Nottingham Forest, after escaping the media spotlight in his native Poland.

As a highly-rated member of the international side back home, the midfielder found himself under intense scrutiny.

But he says he has been given a warm welcome by Forest fans – and hopes to flourish once he has settled into the English game.

"In England, players have a calm life," he said. "No fans have to apply extra pressure to the players, but the players do have to repay (by producing) a good game on the pitch.

"The atmosphere is excellent. Here football among the people is pure madness. Fans are with their team for both the good and the bad times. That is why it is a real joy to play here.

"You do not have to stress here.

"I am in total peace of mind, no one is interested in my personal life, nor do they look at my business and keep track of my every move.

"Before everything else, people in Nottingham look at how you play and what you can bring to the team."

Majewski is not yet fluent at speaking English, but he does understand the language when spoken to.

So he believes communication will not be an issue as his lessons in English continue.

"I am quite sociable, so the problem of communication within the team is not a problem," he said.

"I am fascinated by England. Everything here looks great."

Majewski has played in both Forest's last two pre-season friendlies and is likely to be involved again tonight, as Billy Davies' side entertain Premiership Stoke City at the City Ground.

The manager believes the player, who is on a season-long loan from Polonia Warsaw, can have a big impact in England – once he has settled in.

"It may take him a few weeks to get used to the English game," he said. "But he has ability."

Looks like the journalist at the Post is not yet fluent at writing English ::)

I hope he never has to experience the "you're not fit to wear the shirt" or "we're shit and we're sick of it" chants.......

I had someone in front of me at notts county saying that all game and how all polish should go home. Found it annoying given he was one of the better players on the pitch. Although the same person also thought tyson was anderson.

What was the problem back home? Anyone know?

Nobody knows for sure - but it's been suggested by Polonia Warszawa's owner that Majewski was seen in company of some bad people and that Polonia bosses wanted to make sure he'll keep away from them - by sending him on loan to England.

Now we know he can understand English who do you think will be the first to try and stalk him on Facebook like people seemed to do with The Moose last year?

That would certainly fit in with the following quote.

However, he is being a little blind if he believes nobody is interested in the personal lives of footballers over here.

But in comparison to Poland where he plays for the national team and was one of the few that did that hadn't moved to a higher rated league I think he'll get a lot more privacy here.

Yes, it sounds like the closest thing to how his name should be pronounced.

Probably the same guy that shouted "break his f*****g legs" when Luke Rodgers took the ball into the corner right near the end of the game.
How very embarrassing.

If Majewski lives up to his promising start can someone explain what happens if we want him permanently? I heard something about 1.5 million possibly being accepted if we want him after the loan spell. What happens if a prem team steps in say next year?

Someone wants to have a word with him if he's labouring under the misapprehension that our press corps is unintrusive...

Nothing happens as long as we're interested. Only if Forest didn't want him then all other clubs are allowed to make offers.

Fingers crossed could be a real bargain especially if he performs well in world cup too. That shop window always inflates prices. Remember we got Bryan Roy just before 94 world cup.
