The other Bellingham lad to Dortmund and Watson to Brighton, plus they sold Jack Clarke last summer as well without spending massively

Legit with PSR how can they afford the amount of spending?
They can't. They are doing the same thing we did.

They will need sales before July & will need to stay up.

The cost of doing business, our model clearly worked and they are using it.

Their net spent for the 2 preceding seasons has been negligible. So coming into their first Premier League season, they have significantly more headroom on the "rolling 3 year" basis than Forest did at that same point in time. Their issues will likely be next year........

But without the wholesale ridicule and condescension that we were subjected to.

I think the general acceptance around promoted clubs and PSR has changed. Fans and the media now know as much about 'pure profit' and 'amortisation' as they do about 4-4-2 and I'm not sure that was the case 3 years ago.

The fact we've had 6 clubs now come up in 2 years and stunk the place out changes attitudes towards promoted clubs spending too.

That's a fair point no doubt, but it doesn't alter the fact that irrespective of that since being the case, the media and many pundits were guilty of shameless xenophobia regarding our owner's efforts for us to survive.

I think the media have changed their tune due to your last point - they crave their "survival drama" as much as the "title fight" and the "race for europe". Last few years, promoted teams have given them nothing to get in a froth about, so they will be desperate for Sunlun, Leeds etc to spend big and put up a fight.
