Lucas Bergvall

Bergvall is proven in the EPL. Young, available & proven. Player of the year 2 years back.

Worth going the extra mile for - as that's an unusual combination.

Camara looks great but there's the settling in period etc.

I hope we go all out for Bergval

Beginning to sound like a deadline day deal, if it occurs.

Yep, I was just thinking the same.

Feels like Spurs want a little more than he's worth to other clubs. £45m already feels quite hefty to me, but should be the maximum price IMO.

Only a PL team will spend that, and perhaps only a couple of those who can - would want to.

I still think we're the most natural fit for the player and the player for us. Just a matter of patience.

In the meantime we've got Sangare, Dom, Schlager, Yates who can all player in the position for a few games.

Who would be starter for Leeds game as it stands? I’d say Sangare and Schlager.

he’s going to be a few weeks behind everyone else if he does come late as he’s getting no game time in spurs pre season

Bergvall wants regular playing time, would have thought it was in his best interests to get into a new club early and claim that starting place.

Quite naturally, we view every transfer from a Forest perspective. Therefore most of us said Marinakis played a blinder with City over Anderson. Meanwhile a reasonable number of their fans said he’s not worth that. Forest are taking the piss, there is better value elsewhere.

It feels like with Bergvall, we are in the City position. I don’t blame Tottenham at all for holding out for top dollar for a player they know we really want to sign. But equally, I don’t think we should be paying anywhere near Tottenham’s valuation.

I think that our position with Anderson was stronger. Anderson had not said anything (publicly anyway) about wanting to leave, he was a guaranteed starter, had some of the best performance stats in his position in Europe, and is English. None of those things apply to Bergvall. It feels like a more risky strategy for Tottenham but one they are entitled to pursue.

I think we should stay patient, whilst also lining up other options.

Had a check earlier and Bergvall didn’t play yesterday, looks like de Zerbi is talking a load of BS just to try and collect as much cash as possible, wouldn’t surprise me if Newcastle were never interested.
I would like Bergvall in the squad but not at 60 million.Keep in touch with the player though, he knows he has good chances of getting regular football with us and almost zero at Spurs, may get him at a better price

Totally. But he's not in control of that. Just sat twiddling his thumbs and waiting for Spurs to stop playing hardball over his valuation. I could see him being stranded at Spurs at this rate, which would be bad for him, and bad for them.

Arrived this weekend, I believe. There's nearly a month to Leeds and likely Sangare would be on for 60-65 minutes
Time will tell.
On the Sangare thread, someone (not me) was suggesting Sangare isn't a Glasner type player.
I wasn't suggesting Dom getting the nod for that reason.
I was just suggesting Sangare may not start the first game because of being a few weeks behind the rest of the squad.
Similarly, I think there is a possibility Chris Wood is on the bench for the Dirty Bloody Leeds (you can take all your medals and chuck' em in the bin) game... but who knows what's in Glasner's mind?

Has Sangare rejoined the squad yet after the World cup?
If not, he is already several weeks behind the rest of the squad.
I'm not saying he won't start v Leeds.
I just there is a chance he might be on the bench for that one.
but it is only my opinion.

Yes. It was on Forest's social media yesterday. A picture of him with his case and a message "Welcome back, Ibra!"

Thing with the way Sangare plays though, he won't have too much to change or get used to in OG's system. I can imagine him watching Ibra in the first training session and saying "yeah, do that"

Chelsea in talks to sign Danny Welbeck……..

Apols wrong thread, was intended for the main Summer one.

Surely on a pure fitness level Sangare won't have a great deal of catching up to do as he was playing while the others were on the beach. It's not like he's had an extended break.

FFS, that club.
LOL - reports have been the club saying that their signing youngsters policy has got a bit too far and they need to counter balance it with experience, but to go from too young to pretty much too old to sign like a pendulum swinging between extremes just demonstrates the utter lack of competence at that club
