Yes and at the start of his time here you could see the club were managing his minutes, he'd often be hooked about 60-70'

If we buy Bergvall, he will be pretty much the only non-academy player they have sold for a profit for the past 3-4 years. Man United are similar in that regard, people moan about City & Chelsea's spending but they are constantly selling players, often for a profit. Man Utd & Spurs are rubbish at it. It's an underrated part of recruitment, something we are very good at.

He'll be worth more than that in a couple of years time when they sell him to a big club. He's an absolute top defender. (Although the pairing that they've used in the last few matches has worked really well).

Generally even when we make a bad signing we get money back for them.

We may be tested this summer with some of our £30m+ signings if we intend to cash in, but I think we should & will persist, like we did with Sangare

Hmmm

I've got a right semi on for seeing a proper 3 at the back and wing backs, I think 3-4-2-1 could really work for us.

Which means we dont really need proper wingers, which most of last season's purchases were, so does OG switch to a system to suit current personnel, or do we see a big churn? (again)

Villa do have a big problem though, they can’t sign any player unless players leave this summer due to the strict settlement they have with UEFA. Effectively 1 in 1 out.

It's a positive transfer balance rather than 1 in 1 out. So if they sell Rogers they can fill the gaps in their European squad caused by losing the loanees. It doesn't stop them bringing in a player and not including them in their European squad either.

Talking to a spurs fan yesterday - he does not want to loose Bergvall, thinks he’s going to be one hell of a player. Always looking to go forwards with the ball, hardly ever sideways or backwards.

Spurs fans were looking forward to the last 2 seasons. They always think it’s gonna be their year. Doesn’t alter reality much.
